Not really--something like this is a great community discussion/info source.

I have a CPT L3, with their 2400RPM buget TC. My only complaint is the TC shifts rather rough when going into OD. Since you are local, shoot me a PM if you want to see how it works in person.

i remove the converter lockup checkball for a firmer lockup apply. Some people dont like it. However i do it for 12 inch and 9.5 inch converters. It feels almoast like a 5th gear.

However id rather have a few customers feel its wierd than have converters hurt their lockup clutch. it is better for the converter

p.s. when you switch to a smaller diamater converter it will soften the converter lockup.

Chris, Shane is the man!!! Shane setup my level 3 for smoother shifts, but when I get on it the shifts are realy firm. The TCC lockup is firm on my car too like fbrown's car. I kinda like it, it does feel like a fifth gear.

I'm gonna have to firm it up soon though. Shane I'll be caling ya... So far I've installed 3 of shanes units and we have another one in the works. Knock on wood we have had no issues...

Thanks alot Eddie! Im going to be going with the level 2 tranny, what stall torque converter do you recomend? I have cold air intake/performance exhaust/tb bypass/pulleys. Also when I install the tranny, im going to be installing high flow cats and headers. I know engine power plays a role in what stall to get, so thats just a list of mods that I got. After tranny is installed im going with the 3:73s and pcm tuning, yeeehaaa!!! Thanks again bro!

Chris, I have all that crap you mention having & getting along with Shane's Level II unit & Edge 2800 'verter. Combo shaved a solid 4/10 off my 1/4 time & I feel good about those choices, car is a real performer, Frank.

Checkin' in w a CPT3 in my fleetwood. Kinda dumb but I forget which TC he put in, the discount 2200 one he sells.

Anyway, been in since the summer and it runs sweetly. Shane really turns em around quick.
