Anybody running Hotchkis springs front and back? Comments? How do they compare to anything - stock or otherwise? Do they provide the "advertised" 1" drop in the back and 1.3" in the front?

The Hotchkis springs just came out and not too many have them yet. A couple guys in our club got them, but they aren't on the cars yet. When they do get em on, I will encourage them to let everyone know what they think. As far as I am concerned, the 1" rear/1.3"front drop is gonna amplify the already existing rake of the stock Impala.

Now for the swaybar stuff. They have redesigned the rear bar. We were offered a one time only price at the technical seminar last Saturday of $422 for the front and rear bars. Personally I feel this is way too high. The HO front and rear is $450. I was expecting something in the $250-$300 range. I don't think they will get to many sales at that price. JMHO.

Thanks for the input Eric on their technical seminar. I agree; their prices on sway bars are hard to justify when there are better or at least as good ones out there that are cheaper.
I have their extended rear arms and remain a supporter of them but there are better ones out there now.

I don't want to drop my height from stock much more than an inch. The choices that are "consistent" remain limited IMO. Let us know when someone out Cali gets em on their car.

I have done 2 cars with them & they are very accurate, you will have a little settling but both cars came out the same.

The also come with new rubber isolaters & bumpstops. I have 6 sets in stock too.

On the sway bar deal, $250-$300 is under my price from them directly as a dealer. So you will never see them priced that low. :(

Mike,

I think that was Eric's point. That Hotchkis was going to give the guys at the seminar at least WD on these parts and maybe even better.

My Hotchkis springs will (hopefully *crosses fingers*) be installed next Friday, along with my QA1(HAL) shocks and Hotchkis extend kit. I'll post before and after pics. I just got my Hotchkis sway bars on (HO/HA wouldn't fit with my exhaust), and I like them a lot so far. No real chance to drive hard on them yet, but I'll probably be going out tonight so I'll let you know.

Fastfred, I have a custom exhaust and Tri-Y headers from clear Image Automotive. Dan (DEVIL.DOG) Ferraro advised me that the HO/HA bars wouldn't work with his exhaust, as did Ed Runnion. I didn't require more convincing. ;)

Well, Mike (Brewdawg)), I'm happy to say that I won that lovely Hotchkis Extend Kit in the raffle held by the Impala Club of San Diego at this past Reno Rodarama. :D

BTW: after doing a little spirited driving last night I have to say that the Hotchkis sway bars are great. The only thing stopping me from taking those corners a lot faster than I did was common street-driving courtesy, and not wanting a ticket. ;) I absolutely cannot wait to see how the ride improves once I get the springs and shocks on.

Just to follow up on this post I wanted to let you guys know that I really like my new springs. The car looks (1" drop all around) and rides great, and I'm sure that after I play with the settings on my QA1 shocks a bit it'll be even better. The X-tend kit really does make quite a difference, but I still don't think I would've paid full price for it (at least not for awhile). ;) I'll be posting before and after pics of the car after my new interior is in.

Will, I'm gonna post some Impalafest pics of my car since it will actually be clean then. ;) If possible I'll get some pics comparing my dropped SS to some other peoples' with different springs. Look for a thread in the Misc. section sometime next week.

I don't know if many of you know but I sell the complete line of Hotchkis parts. Incase you were wondering about pricing here are a few:

Impala SS X-tend trailing arms: $448.50
Impala SS Lowering coils: $208.50
Impala SS Sway bars F/R: $ 375.00

These prices are plus shipping which should not be more than $15.00 unless you want overnight or two day.
