I just purchased Bilstein's heavy duty shocks for my 94' B4U. They are being shipped to me as of now. Just wondering what reviews you all from the forum have to give me as to how good they are for street, drag, or racing environments. I am running Intrax coils and they are pretty soft...I was looking to stiffen the ride a bit...cause my Caprice really feels like a 4,000 car if you know what I mean. Actually more like a boat in the wake!

it depends on which bilstiens you got. there are two sets: the 1516 and 1517s are a little softer feeling than the older, 1104 & 0929s. i have the 1516/17s and intend to upgrade the front to the 1104s. this is not to say that the 1516s are bad -- they are not -- they just FEEL softer because of their valving. i have had all four wheels off the ground more than once with the 1516/17s installed and did not even come close to bottoming out . however, their floaty feel, as you put it, "really makes the caprice feel like a 4,000 pound car". regardless, either choice is FAR superior to the stock 9C1 shocks.

Just to clarify so no one makes any mistake.

B-Body Shock page

1104 Fronts /0929 Rear

Don't want to see some one buy a rear shock for the front.

I8A-Z28: Just installed Bilsteins all around on Monday...like them a lot ! ;)
So far, they don't seem TOO stiff for my liking, perhaps a bit more than my 71,000 mile DeCarbons....
What other suspension mods have you made ?

Oh yes, they were the 1104 & 0929's...
