Just curious, as it was my first time. I have looked, but cannot find the results. My car number was 150. Thanks,
Maverick

I don't know about the results, but I do know that from my parking spot, your supercharger sounded b!tchin' when you started to spool it up.

I was parked in the corner spot, near the grassy knoll, right next to the part of the course that from the start was a left 180+ mini-sweeper, thru slalom, to big back sweeper. Very nice!

Yeah, I asked someone, "Whats that hissing noise?" "Blower..." "Ahhh..."

It sure was fun. I think I'm hooked. I loved hearing my exhaust bouncing off the parked cars. The Summits sure sound good.
G
Wayne, I was parked next to you at the plant. I noticed your car had a dealer label on it from Loveland, Colorado. What's up with that?
G
That's where she came from.

I flew to Denver, was picked up in the car by the previous owner, who lives in Ft. Collins, drove to Loveland and the dealer that sold him the car, Davidson Chevrolet, handled the paperwork for me. So it's a 2 owner car now, and the same dealer (and salesman) technically sold it twice. The salesman who had sold him the SS, sold him his new Bonne SSEi to replace it.

I then drove her back. 200 miles the first evening, then 1000 miles the next day.

I like the dealer applied gold penstripe and chrome insignia, so I left them on. It made the car easier to find at ImpalaFest.

The stripes look great. The color sits on the car really well! Anything to set the car off was helpful in that crowd! :D

So how DID Mav do in autoX???
G
Let's see... entry #150, right?

1st run: 1:05.171
2nd run: DNF
3rd run: 59.058
Finish: Fourth in class

Not bad for a first outing, not at all...

How did you get the times for all 3 runs? All I found were the best times for the trophy winners. Is there a way to get the times for everyone, every run?

Thanks,
G

Actually, it turns out that I do have all the autocross times, and I'll post them as soon as I can.

Bob Ploof, you got three times: 53.986, 53.688 and 53.714. You know where you ended up in the standings. <laugh>
G
Yes, I know where I ended up, but I wanted to see how my first run was. For those that were there, I think I was the 4th car out. Harvey went first, then Chuck in the kitcar, then Dave S. from GRAIL, then me. I was sideways most of the way thru the first half of the course. Talk about slippery! I did get a nice round of applause for that run, even my in-car camcorder pick up the cheers. Thanks!!

I look forward to the full results. I print out and keep all results of all events I run in for archival purposes.

Thanks again,
G
Fivetoad, thanks! Thats what I wanted.

Great runs Bob. I just wish I can get that good.

Pretty damn good Maverick! Considering this was your 1st time on a autoX track, driving a car only for the 7th day configured that way! Especially since you took 2 lanes+the grass nearby doing a U-turn about 45 minutes earlier on the trip there! :D Anytime you knock a rocker arm loose, you know it was a hell of a ride! A lot of fun!!! As the installer of the suspension components, I was really happy with the outcome!
