i want to put a chevy cruse steering wheel in my 96 impala ss. how can i make it fit

First are the splines the same as the Impala? If not you are pretty much screwed from the start.

Won't work. You can swap on earlier air bag wheels, but only single stage. The Cruze will be two stage.

Yeah if the airbag matters to you, then it likely won't work. If it doesn't matter, then the splines at least have to match, as Fred stated. I run a Turbo Regal steering wheel in my 96 Roadmaster (previously in my 93 Roadmaster) and it fits perfectly after sanding the back of the rear cover a bit to shorten it

to the best of my knowledge, the year 2000 and lower steering wheels had single stage airbags
