As much fun as everyone had at I2K2, I hate to spoil the good feelings, but...

Sometime Firday night or Saturday morning, someone stole my 2 chairs and 2 softsided coolers from the hill behind my car. I didn't think much of it when they weren't there the next morning, figuring one of the other GaSSiteers had put them up. When no one had them, I checked around and they weren't anywhere in sight.

I hate to think that one of the fellow Impalapalooza participants took them, but there was plenty of other stuff around, and the chairs and coolers were the only ones there with 'Impala SS' embroidered on them.

One of the coolers was full of rags and stuff that can be replaced. The other bag is (was) my car show stuff, including the engraved plates from my 4 trophies, a rare 1994 brochure, and (worst of all) the original window sticker from when I bought the car new in 1995.

I asked the maintenance guys at the hotel to keep an eye on the dumpster, but I don't expect to see any of that stuff again.

So just a warning to all future participants that the days of being able to set up your tents and trust that no one will bother your stuff are probably over.

And that's a real shame.

Read around... someone stumbled across a couple of chairs...

I know the community is more like a family but I tend to have little trust for most people, even if they are Impala owners... for that reason I armed my alarm every time I left my car. No not because someone might steal it, but it did have a brand spankin new laptop sitting on the center console and it would be an easy pick for someone... not in the impala "family"

Hell, I'm sure there were some people that left their keys in the ignition over night but that isnt how I like to do things.

Sorry about your loss with the window sticker and all, thats a damn shame =(
