Did the idler arm replacement today using the GM Performance Part (Dana/Spicer made). The new part is slightly different than the OEM. Here's the question. The FSM calls for a distance from the center of the lower mounting hole to the bottom of the bracket of 59.44 mm +/-1.60 mm. You can achieve this with the OEM part, because the bracket actually threads into the bushing part, but the Dana/Spicer performance part does not thread in or out. Do you simply install as is? It's pretty easy if that's the answer.

Thanks,
RS

I believe that's all you do. If I remember correctly, the reason the stock one calls for a certain distance or length is because you can screw it in our out to adjust it. Aftermarket pieces don't do this so they just go in. It is really easy actually

Thanks for the quick answer. The instructions in the AC Delco Box pretty much confirmed your answer - no mention of any adjustment at all.
