Currently have a Power Akoustic model dvd player in my car under the glove compartment.

problem is it is having a hard time playing DVD+R discs.

Does anyone know of some in car dvd players that can handle DVD+R discs without problems?

I know I can get a cheap ($35) Cyberhome dvd player from Best Buy that will play them with no trouble really but the issue there being I'm not sure how it would do with the vibration in the car.

If that cheap one you mentioned is a home DVD player, there is no way it will handle vibration in the car, unless you mount it on some serious shock absorbing mounts. Home players usually have no shock protection whatsoever and are very easy to make skip. You may want to try installing an onboard mini-pc instead, since that will surely let you play DVD+R. You can get circuitry that will cause it to boot up as soon as the car starts, and shut off safely as soon as the car is turned off. You can also configure it to boot up in a few seconds by stripping out all the non-essentials, and you can get frontend software for it that will let you launch DVDs, MP3s, Navigation, etc; all from a car-friendly interface. Just a thought.
