I have an announcement from Bob Fandetti regarding Nats and it is posted here with managements permission..

"To those of you that signed up for the ISSCA Nationals, we appreciate your enthusiasm and interest in a National Event. To those of you that did not, your silence indicates that we on the board still have to better understand the club dynamics.

Based on the less than overwhelming registration numbers, we have made the difficult decision to re-schedule the Nationals to spring of 2011. The Board has concluded that we may need more feedback from the Membership in order to plan and execute a National Event that the majority of our Membership will support and participate in. When those of us that volunteered our time to re-vitalize our club discussed what we felt was important to the Membership, we felt a consistent Magazine and a National Event were the most important elements a National Club has to offer. We think the Web Magazine that Ken puts out with articles and news provided by the Board, Regional Clubs, and individual members has been well received by the membership. Upon reflection, we have to revisit the National Event.

Rather than discuss, debate, and grapple in a vacuum, we will be sending out a questionnaire to all the members, designed to better understand what you, the membership feel is important in a National Event. We will be asking your feedback on all facets of a National event, such as:

· Location
· Cost
· Time of year
· Importance of Events (Drags, Show, Sound-off, AutoX, Road Course)
· Importance of a National Event vs. Regional Events

We really need to know from everyone what makes a National Event work for YOU! This club is for the members, we will be asking for your feedback. We want to make this a positive learning experience, an opportunity to reflect and improve the product. We have seen a lot of positive support for this event, but we need to make sure that next spring’s event better reflects the needs of the majority of the club.

For those of you that have already registered and paid, your monies are being refunded as you read this, check your PayPal accounts over the next few days. Also, all members, please watch for a Nationals Questionnaire and provide your input so we can better focus on a National Event that ISSCA Membership can support and attend. I don’t think we are off base when we say that one of the best parts of a National Club is the camaraderie and good times we enjoy at any gathering of Impala lovers……..and we want to provide the venue that will make this happen.

Man...that's a bummer. Many thanks to those who put in the time attempting to make it happen. Also commend you for making a good business decision rather than forcing an event.

Eagerly awaiting for Spring 2011 event details!

Man this really bites. and I mean hard!

But thanks to all of those who worked so hard to try and pull this off.

While I completly disagree with the postponing of the event and disappointing the 50 or so who registered-------because we fell a few cars short-------realy really sucks.

But thats my rant and now I look forward to Spring of 2011

I must admit, I was 1 of the slackers that forgot to register...I'll make sure I register early for 2011 even if I can't attend. I'll even get someone to bring my car out.

Ditto for me.its very sad that more folks didn't register for the event some if us have waited all year for.but I did notice the folks that mailed in their registration was not on the list.I wonder how many more that would have made us have?

We did count mail registrations in the total registered but just did not have enough folks to cover costs. :(

What was the official number of registered members?

I know this is a crap shoot but if we can extend the deadline until this Saturday, I think we might be able to get enough registered....

no matter how much faith you have in someone or club that is a very reasonable question to ask when its a large sum(to some of us working stiffs)
plus i didnt understand why if we paid by paypal i was told they were sending a check?

Now I'm confused. The first post in this thread says money is being refunded to our PayPal accounts?
Have things changed?
Maybe I missed a letter?

Sorry I missed this guys.

I think the confusion is because PayPal dings us 3% for a transaction/money transfer.

So when you guys sent in $149 to us - well ISSCA only received $144.53. So now for us to SEND you back $149 through PayPal we would have to send you $153.47 out of our meager budget.

Basically, we would lose almost $9 (or an additional $4.50) per registrant by PayPal-ing it back so I think they were looking into either getting around that fee (someone said if you refund PayPal money within 60 days there is no fee) or snail mailing a check back.

Sucks, but everyone takes a bite out of your leg when you do business on the web.

50+ people paid so that will save ISSCA almost $250 we can put towards something else if we snail mail it back.

Thanks for your patience, we are working on a very tight budget here.

That is correct.if you refund within 60 there is no charge.but also if you send as a gift anytime there is no charge or fees for ether party but you get no Paypal protection if something goes wrong.
