The deadline was July 31st.

There will be an official announcement very soon.

Stay tuned.

Thanks!
Feels like Im waiting on Brett Favre and Lebron James...
Damn I was late, imma register right now.
Regisration link is closed, I'll be ready to pay if it goes back up.
Hey guys, there will be an announcement coming soon - I'm away on vacation and missed this weeks ISSCA Board meeting but I think the decision is made.

The issue is very low registration so far.

Believe it or not, we have had some VERY generous offers behind the scenes of sponsorship and one Impala fan even offered to pay up to 10 entry fees to get the event going.

While we appreciate the support, the number one goal is getting Impala nuts together for fun, friendship, and of course competition.

So even if we COULD cover the costs, do we really want to have an event with only 50 cars or maybe 60 cars there?
not sure i'd bother making the drive to see only 40-50 cars. :(
Well If you need it, I have my entry fee money for you. I'm sorry I spaced getting it in on time. (I know you said it is about attendance, more than money but if you need it I still have it)

I would say YES. Esspecially if the cost is covered.

Maybe this ought to be put to the people who resistered to see if they still want this event
BK, you know my answer, HELL yes!!!!!!!!!!!! This could probably be the only NATS close enough for me to attend.

I also understand that that could be the problem for some people, it's just too far for them, or the wrong time of year.

I'm a drag racer, car nut, for life. It just would not be the same for me, if it was too far for me to bring my Impala.

Anyway, I still hold out hope.:)
I have an announcement from Bob Fandetti regarding Nats and it is posted here with managements permission..

"To those of you that signed up for the ISSCA Nationals, we appreciate your enthusiasm and interest in a National Event. To those of you that did not, your silence indicates that we on the board still have to better understand the club dynamics.

Based on the less than overwhelming registration numbers, we have made the difficult decision to re-schedule the Nationals to spring of 2011. The Board has concluded that we may need more feedback from the Membership in order to plan and execute a National Event that the majority of our Membership will support and participate in. When those of us that volunteered our time to re-vitalize our club discussed what we felt was important to the Membership, we felt a consistent Magazine and a National Event were the most important elements a National Club has to offer. We think the Web Magazine that Ken puts out with articles and news provided by the Board, Regional Clubs, and individual members has been well received by the membership. Upon reflection, we have to revisit the National Event.

Rather than discuss, debate, and grapple in a vacuum, we will be sending out a questionnaire to all the members, designed to better understand what you, the membership feel is important in a National Event. We will be asking your feedback on all facets of a National event, such as:

· Location
· Cost
· Time of year
· Importance of Events (Drags, Show, Sound-off, AutoX, Road Course)
· Importance of a National Event vs. Regional Events

We really need to know from everyone what makes a National Event work for YOU! This club is for the members, we will be asking for your feedback. We want to make this a positive learning experience, an opportunity to reflect and improve the product. We have seen a lot of positive support for this event, but we need to make sure that next spring’s event better reflects the needs of the majority of the club.

For those of you that have already registered and paid, your monies are being refunded as you read this, check your PayPal accounts over the next few days. Also, all members, please watch for a Nationals Questionnaire and provide your input so we can better focus on a National Event that ISSCA Membership can support and attend. I don’t think we are off base when we say that one of the best parts of a National Club is the camaraderie and good times we enjoy at any gathering of Impala lovers……..and we want to provide the venue that will make this happen.

I do not get on the computer as much as others and only by luck did I see there was a nationals in my back yard. I'm located in SW Ark. I only saw this because i didn't write down the date and was retrieving it so I could sign up for leave at work. I never received anything in the mail about nationals and you should not rely on the internet for everything. I was however registered and was looking forward to being there. Could this be the problem of others not knowing or is the Impala fever falling or economics just that bad. I do not want to go if there is no competition. I would like to see something from the directors on what is happening.

it has been postponed till the spring sometime but you made a good point.maybe there should be some kind of notice sent out (yes reg mail) to all members new and old.not everything should be done email or internet.or maybe advertised in some car magazines, cruise night magazines ect.i know that will cost but if it gets the word out better wouldnt it be worth it?

We will look into a mailing however (thinking out-loud) it most likely would only go to current members. We did a mass e-mailing to all past 1800+ members of ISSCA with a 62% success rate of finding good e-mail addresses. I wonder if the same would be said for finding the Impala enthusiast at the physical addresses we have on file. Since we just have just over 200 members signed up, we suspect a myriad of reasons folks have to not re-join. And that's ok in my book... people move on, find other interests... our focus is our current members and how we can make the club better for them. In doing so, others may find the value they seek and join. WE are committed to make this a club to last for quite some time. And while our numbers continue to climb albeit slowly, they are climbing. AS always I appreciate the comments, suggestions and support.

It was just very upsetting to find out Nationals had been canceled and Hoss not having Impala fest this year. I hope you try the mailings. Even though I have never gotten anything for being a member (No Magazine) for three years I have enjoyed going to Nationals and being with other Impala owners. Learning from them what can be done and not done to our cars. There needs to be something to advertise a national club. I go to many car shows and always find someone with an impala or caprice that know nothing of a national club or local club. Maybe we can get it together in the spring.

+1

Thanks ISSCA BOD. I appeciate your efforts to pull this off. It is the fault of the apathetic "enthusiasts" for not stepping up to the plate to keep the event alive. Hopefully this is a wake up call for the Spring 2011 event.

Even though I have never gotten anything for being a member (No Magazine) for three years...
While that is true for the last 2 years of the "old club", since the "new club" has been restructured there have already been 2 ISSCA Scene Magazines (electronic PDF format) published in 2010 so far. ISSCA members get a free download of the magazine with their annual membership.
Over and over we hear complains about everything in life. The fact is that we all have to put our part and make things happen. Everyone of us needs to put our part and effort into "our club". Non profict organizations are very hard to run, the fact is that it takes money to make things happen. Sure we could place advertizements all over and raice awareness to our club and events. We could go ahead and print a fancy full color magazine and have it fedexed to your door. I for one think that there are many people here that expect too much for too little, come on what do you get now days for $20 a year? I happen to know a little bit about business being that I have owed my mobile electronics shop for 20 years. I have seen good days and bad days but while my competitors are crying about the economy I'm working more hours to move forward. For 19 years I never worked on Sundays, but now I do. My point is that we need to STOP complaining and we need to get our a$$es and do something. STOP blaiming others, there is lots of hard work going on behing the scenes that many don't see and appricite. Start by moving your mouse to the green DONATE link on the left top of this page and show your support. I will not give up and I will continue to support the club because I am a member and I care.

Richard

Richards I couldn't have said it better myself.

There's a reason some people are more successful in life than others.

Doers as opposed to talkers. Simple as that.

1SS2HEAR, we are the new ISSCA, the last 3 years have nothing to do with us. Sorry you didn't know about the last 2 issues of the magazine, they are actually very good. Ken Rogers (the Impala lover, not the Gambler) worked real hard on them. The latest 'summer' edition is about 30 pages. Go to www.issca.org to download it.

To address the non-communication issues that plagued ISSCA in the past, we are actually compiling an email distro.

Also, we have a Yahoo group email distro similar to the NAISSO digest etc where you can post comments, etc. and ALL ISSCA members get copied on it. It's a very effective tool.

Bottom line is we are all VOLUNTEER enthusiasts working to make something and keep the gang together. A bunch of us dumped money in knowing full well we probably won't get it back, but we did it for the love of the national club. We need to keep this alive just like this forum. Plus, we don't have a big sponsor like Chevrolet anymore (or Harvey and Repops for that matter :D) so it's a grass-roots kind of thing.

Please consider stepping up and helping out or at least donating to the cause.

Considering the continued rise in USPS mailing rates, expecting something in the mailbox or in a print format (magazine, etc) is now almost cost-prohibitive and the situation is only going to get worse.

Future communication has to be largely electronic in nature to keep costs in check, so I can only suggest that both ISSCA management and membership come to that understanding, and establish some method that will generate an automatic "Greetings from ISSCA" update--whether monthly, quarterly, or on an as-needed basis, even if it's a simple reminder to go visit www.issca.org if an update has been posted.

Members will just have to understand the need to be at least minimally connected electronically in some manner to receive club communiques in a timely manner.

It's not possible to make exceptions--everyone who joins ISSCA surely must know someone who can get online, even if they personally do not.
