Wait... Mid 50's at night and mid 70's during the day is COLD?!?!?!

Not as far as your car is concerned. So it does eventually start?

What day did this happen on?

Is there gas in it?

How do you know its getting no fuel? did you hook up a fuel pressure gauge? perhaps the fuel pump does not like to work once its cold (I had this problem, Hard to start when cold but once the fuel pump ran ,if it WOULD run, for a few minutes the pump would work forever untill you shut off the car. Then the pump would die once again when it cooled off) If its not fuel related perhaps the ECT sensor (On the water pump) shifted in resistance value. The ECT sensor won't cut fuel. It will however change the injectors cycle time.

Its 60 degrees now and its not COLD on the west coast... Mine just started up... :D Infact it finallys runs good..(I think I saw someone outside in a fur coat.. LMAO) Gotta run and plug in my block heater.. :D Ok that's enough.

freezing. i probably wont survive the north but i could barely move like my nerves freeze up. and yes i live by the beach. i had a hot bath to the point where FULL heat will feel so warm but it would burn the bestfriend down there. i could barely breathe in the bathroom to all these smokes from the heat. so yeah it's pretty cold out there at that number . this happens at night.

and yeah i did it with a fuel gauges.

So after you check your fuel pressure, what was it reading?

When I bought my K&N FIPK, I also special ordered the winter package. Each winter I have to velcro the fur wrap around the intake tube and it makes all the difference in the world. I haven't tried the special plastic wrap around the filter yet.

I got the opposite problem, my car was misfiring and acting up a few months ago, worse when it was hotter, now it runs perfect, and I haven't done anything to it.

Get that fuel pressure gauge on there, then you can start looking up front if thats out the way.

i hook the fuel pump gauges in and it reads very low. couple crank and there was NO fuel pressure. when the sun comes up in the morning and the temperature increase i come back in the car to start it and the car starts like it never had any problem before.

Next time it does this, try either kicking (my way) or thumping the bottom of the fuel tank, towards the center of it. I had a 92 Z71 truck i had that wouldnt crank when it was cold outside, but a swift kick to the tank, and it would fire right up. I drove it like this for a year, and i know i looked crazy kicking my truck all the time, lol! I finaly changed the pump, and it was fine after that.

Def:

Nominal pressure on the fuel rails is between 41-47psi. If you're reading anything lower than that you need to look at a few things:

1. Fuel Pump
2. Fuel Filter
3. Fuel Pressure Regulator

I had to replace my fuel pump, it's no easy job and be careful of the fuel sending unit if you do it yourself, GM makes them nice and fragile and EXPENSIVE to replace. Pray it's just a clogged fuel filter (not likely) but they take only seconds to replace and require no special tools except a ratchet and a jack. It is pretty common for the fuel pumps to go out after 75K miles. I recommend Walbro but OEM is always good too.

i understand electrical stuff.. i just cant seem to understand how the weather could disabled my fuel pump.. especially since it's in the tank.. soak in gas.. it just dun make sense.

i just dont wanna go out my way and pull down the tank full of gas on my own since nobody like getting their nail dirty (i personally hate gloves). it's a hell of a job that i do not enjoy. the worse part i hate is getting the bolt back on the frame, and the gas spill when i disconnect the line. could it be ANYTHING else?

okay guys. it's saturday and right now according to my channel 7 news website the temperature is at 67 degree. it's not really that cold (unless it's because im not getting too much wind) the car will not start. now i cant go clubbin! no ride! ugh!!

the ONLY thing i can see that's wrong with my car is a tube that goes from the throttle body to the passenger side valve cover. there's a small crack at the end of the hose by the throttle body. can this be the cause?

it was extremely cold in the a.m. hot water aint got **** on this weather. but it got hot pretty quickly in the afternoon today. this morning i was gonna go buy a new hose for the throttle body but the car wouldnt start.so i remember DiGGM95 said something bout kicking the gas tank. i really didnt have no room to slide my big foot under the car to give it a kick and didnt wanna get on the dirt. so i slide my foot somewhat behind the back driver side wheel and tap on the corner of the gas tank. i barely even HIT it that hard. and VROOM car starts!

DiGGM95 get the trophy! still a mystery but so far that lil tap let the car drive today thru this cold weather and i dont got the fund at the moment to go fork over 100 dollar for a new fuel pump since christmas is around the corner.
