What exactly must be cut? And its bolt on & go after that correct

The steering column shaft must have a notch filed or ground into it to allow the through bolt for the Jeep shaft to pass by the shaft, and go through the other side of the Jeep shaft. If you do not cut the notch, the bolt will not align properly.

This link in post #140 of this thread shows the best of what needs to be done. Not so much a "Cut" as it is more of a gringing of a notch in the steering shaft. Look closely at the pics cause you dont need to remove much material to do this.

This probably isn't new information, but if you're looking for a new Jeep steering shaft it looks like Dorman is making one. Look for part number 425-284, current cost is just over $200.

I have seen the shaft for $120 or so.
