I just turned 200k miles on our 1995 Caprice, earlier this month. Early August 2022. ( photos taken June 2021, and August 2022 ). This "all stock" green / 1995 / 9C1 / LT1 / has been in our family since July of 2000.

Has anyone else turned ... 100k, 200k, 300k, 400k, 500k, lately ?

I should have said, the car is all stock mechanically but the factory original exterior color of B&W was repainted as "emerald green" (a non factory color) by the CHP, (California Highway Patrol) in 1997 when they turned some 1995 B&W "slick top", LT1, speed enforcement cars, into Exceutive Use, unmarked, cars. Here's a photo (May 2021) that shows its exterior color better. It's just a very "green" color.

On the 9c1 cars, I think there's a button that you can push, on your dash, to make it ( the dash ) go all dark ... or lite back up ... Can't recall which button it is, without looking at it, on my own car ...

Or it could be that your dash has simply failed, from age, and without fixing it, it will not come back on.

I do not know how many miles are on my 94 9C1 Forest Green Metallic Caprice because the digital speedometer / odometer does not light up.
Next to the switch that turns the headlights on or off is a thumbwheel that dims or brightens the instrument panel and dash lights.
EVERY Caprice I ever owned - all four - had the same problem.
Had to wiggle it left and right, AND up and down, til it was in JUST the right spot for the IP & dash to light up.
(Like knob tuning my old radio to 92.7 WLIR / WDRE in Brooklyn.)
Yes I know it's not a bona fide fix, but I lived with it.

Wight Wail, my white wagon with no power options and a front bench that only adjusted fore and aft and no other options of any kind, lasted a lil bit over 264 thousand miles, despite my constant abuse of it.
I miss it still.

I had two 1995 9C1s that each made it slightly over 300K before the tin worm got to the bodies. The drive train would have gone on for a lot more. The only trouble I had with the engine was an intake valve hanging open at a little over 200K on one of them. When we got the head off the cross hatch was still visible on the cylinder wall. I had to change the steering box on the other one == it leaked badly. Just the usual maintenance == ball joints, tie rod ends and so on. The 1995 9C1 I have now came to me with 47K miles from North Carolina, like the other two. It should outlast me.

I would post pictures if I knew how.

If these work they are the "old" ones that are gone. I don 't have a picture of the current white one. I'll have to correct that.
