The mechanic put my rebuilt motor in. It's a 96 block for a 94 Impala. It runs very well and sounds great. The only issue is the engine light comes on and reads for a code for the knock sensor. (dont know the exact code numbers)

Well, he changed both of them on the bottom sides of the motor and still the code reads the same. I wondered if there is a knock sensor in the PCM and could it be the issue or not? Even he is not sure. Any advice?

Since no one has answered this did you buy the correct 94-95 knock sensors or did you buy some for a 96?

The mechanic had a couple of 10,000 computers and yet I finally bought another sensor for 1994 and it worked out just fine. Had to change both.
