That is indeed one mighty alluring mod. A fancy way of saying Bitchin'! There's been at least one other bloke that posted quite detailed writeup-pics of that type upgrade. Brakes is the next serious mod I'm doing. So, it's reassuring to see the work involved is not very entailing. Now just to get past that cost part and I'm there.

thenkyu peeps, definitely the most effective brake mod Ive done, including the stealth and metering bolt mods.
havent braked it hard enough to see fade yet (except during the initial breakin drive) but the pedal moves less than an inch and its rock hard.
no mush at all and I had metallic lines up front already.
I had to clearance the caliper abutment bracket where the connecting piece is closest to the stock wheel hub.
its the section on the bracket that is slightly curved for clearance, used a power grinder and finished up with a sanding wheel then repainted the bracket with engine paint.

I want to do a brake upgrade SO bad on my car... but i still cant wrap my head around why a set of calipers and rotors cost as much as a nice set of heads/cam, or a supercharger kit.

think of it as a handling upgrade ;)
theres more parts than just the calipers and rotors. theres the alum hubs, bearings, seals, brackets and front steel braided lines.
everything in the kit is top of the line, arp studs, pressure cast pbr calipers etc
I didnt really think a calipers stiffness would be noticeable but the pedal feel is seriously improved over the stock calipers.

my problem, is every time i have a few thousand to throw at the car, all i can think about is making it go faster, look better, or the stereo to be louder. i dont find myself in too many situations where i NEED better brakes. and if i ever do... thats why i carry full coverage insurance. LOL

I did this Kore C6 caliper and rotor upgrade over the winter. Huge differnce in braking! Very noticable on the track.

an update, bout a month or so back some female cuts a left in front of me into her driveway and blocks my lane as she slows to enter it.
I slam on the brakes (no abs) and car stopped with plenty of room, caught me by surprise and I just stomped them.

perfect front brakes breaking loose first.

a week later still there cwm2
