So my dad bought a 1996 Fleetwood as a driver, we've been looking at it closely and in the drivers side interior trunk theres a small slide lever that is stumping both of us. What is it? Whats its purpose? Thanks guys.

There should be a switch in near the driver's seat to release it electrically.

I have this feature in my Fleetwood.
Kept finding it locked all the time when I put gas and was wondering how the heck was it happening...now, it makes sense (according to the attached article/picture) that it locks when you lock/unlock all doors in the car. cwm4

I have not found a button inside the car. The lever in the trunk is sufficient. The wires that run to the front of the car are to the remote, and do not go to a switch.

there is no separate button inside car. fuel door is unlocked when door locks are opened from remote fob (if equipped).
Lever in trunk is mechanical.
