I also love this idea and love all of the ones you have been making since the HVAC knobs.

Curious to know the prices as I think I MAY want one but with a different word in there. Something to match my vanity plates, hopefully.

And I'm also waiting for you to go into the DOOR SILL project :D

We are gonna need door sills, pedals , and shift knobs and dont for get about 94 and 95 guys with colum shifts. Im sure you will get enough interest to produce these items so lets have the prices and available time on these items. Pricing is what will bring us in or run us away not having us drool and beg for them. Punnisher is starting to produce some billet as well and he gets us pricing and available very fast and he has decesent pricing too.
I 100% agree with you on the pricing, I badly wanted the HVAC knobs but the price tag kept me away. Hopefully these dash plates will be a bit more in my budget range.

Greg,

I would love too see a replacement for the "deer" logo on the trunk. I've replaced mine a couple of times for peeling paint. If I could replace it with a billet emblem with a full cut out, I'd relocate the lock cylinder and smooth the trunk.

I've wanted this since about 1998.

I guess we're all entitled to our own opinion so on the price issue, I really didn't hesitate because of the price tag on the knobs as I felt that they were worth every penny. The time and quality put into these are very much worth it. Like it's said: You get what you pay for.

And really, I wouldn't know where else to get them.

But to each their own . . .

I never questioned his work or quality of his custom products, I have heard nothing but rave reviews about his work. Me being a college student and having all types of bills to pay I dont think I could afford 4 custom knobs for $120. And like you said nobody else really makes this stuff, so the seller can preety much charge whatever they want and still have a following.

Im not trying to knock his prices but the tag was just a little to rich for my blood thats all.

I could be in for a billet Impala SS with black letters or just a billet Impala SS and I'll paint it myself. Also interested in at least 1 maybe 2 one off pieces.

since I have a couple minutes I would like to address a couple of the concerns....

The biggest thing you need to understand first and foremost. My father works 60 hours a week, and its not doing knobs. He has a job to do and then after his 12 hour day, he sits and does these side projects (mostly on Saturdays and Sundays). He's not going to produce 1 sidescript or 3 dashplates, because the material costs more that what he would get outta it. In all fairness and I'm not naming names, do you know how many people said, I WANT ONE, for the knobs and then dropped off the face of the earth when I try to contact them to get money. I answer questions and PMs as best and as frequently as I can. BETWEEN my 40 hour work week and my 25 hours at the police academy. This is not my job, but I help my father out with the "secretarial work". So with that being said if you guys understand and be patient (which is what I ask and thank people for repeatedly). With the knobs PATIENCE paid off right?

And hear me out, I'm not mad, or yelling, I just want you guys to understand; this is not a business. :(

And price wise, I understand the school thing and I'm glad that was clarified, but I seriously don't want anyone to question our prices, my father will say it too; dare ya to bring it somewhere and ask how much for those knobs. My fathers skills and experience can't be matched. Thats the trade off, you wait a little bit and you get a product that ISN'T mass produced. My father is a ONE MAN shop. So he can't pop out on demand whatever your imagination dreams. All I'm asking in the nicest possible way is the be patient. for those who didn't know, those knobs were talked about 1 day in november. They didn't go for sale til february. The arguement that there will be a demand. When we post things yes there is a demand all the time. Then when you get people to pay they disappear. Were just approaching it cautiously, and my father also tries to figure out the most effective way to produce these things and still keep HIS standard for quality.

Anyway, keep the interest and be patient. It will pay off. My father is doing pricing on the dash plates, but he wants to give you guys the best deal.

Have a good day, and like always, we'll keep you guys updated. :D

First I’d like to say the Impala SS forum is one of the best sights out there and I have met some really nice people though it. If you are going to buy my parts maybe you should know a little more let me introduce myself my name is Greg Suski I am a small machine shop supervisor or I like to call myself a studipvisor. As a machinist I have made everything to parts that went up in the space shuttles to artificial joints and valves for infants before I started my current job I was running a 5 axis lathe turning with diamond tooling. All this started because my three sons where continuing talking about billet this and billet that and when I looked at what they where buying I told them it was cheap crap correction expensive cheap crap so I had to put my money where my mouth was and you have seen the results.

I started this thread because I wanted feedback as far as what the folks on this sight thought and what they want to see I was hoping for cool how about this or cool how about that so I would know more where to concentrate my time now I am afraid to post anything more I have been dreaming of telling my boss to take this job and shove it and starting my own shop where I could have the best of both worlds making MY own stuff making parts, car parts, making things the other big guys don’t touch there is a reason they don’t because what I want to do is not the easy things if you look at what they do its thing that easily mass produced I don’t know if I have to make a living selling the knobs I’m going to go hungry I find myself being more and more picky and spending more and more time on each one.

The side scripts are not for sale and were not posted in GP I don’t think anyone would want to pay what they are worth the plating alone cost me over 100 the back of the scripts was contoured to fit the fender sst set screws where locktighted into the back then bolted on it was intended to show what mods he has on his car

Ok here it is
Dash plate polished with ether Impala SS or Caprice SS or Caprice 9c1 I guess it will depend on how many orders that is what kind of feedback I was looking for

Only 26.00 with shipping

Painting was a pain and I’m going to ask for 10.00 extra

One off will be 20.00 extra now before you flame me I have to create the geometry on Cad then I have to program the machine it all takes time.

This is getting to long thanks Greg

Greg I'm still in..... your work is fantastic and I for one thank you! I know your not going to make a living out of the small runs of items you offer us and this alone is a reason to thank you again. If it wasn't for you and others like you that offer one of a kind or limited run items for our cars owning these cars wouldn't be as enjoyable.

Put me in for;
1- Impala SS, polished no paint
Edited; I changed my mind on my 1 off to;
1- SSKIDMARKSS, polished no paint

Ok, first of all, as someone who has seen both Greg's work and MBA's work first hand, they are both extremely nice pieces. Not better than MBA, but just as nice. And that's a compliment to Greg because MBA produced some masterpieces. Do you have any of Greg's stuff in your possession yet? What MBA pieces do you have?

And before you go bashing MBA for being too pricey, maybe you are forgetting MBA was a business, not someone trying to get started. I guess no one remembers how much MBA gave back to the Impala community? Tens of thousands of dollars in sponsorships and donations to Impala clubs around the country.

And sorry to jump all over you cheap scummers but HOW DARE YOU QUESTION GREG ON PRICING? This guy is an artist, and he has emerged to provide a highly needed service to us. Crying about pricing (his VERY REASONABLE pricing too, IMO) will be the fastest way to make him think twice about doing this stuff.

Bunch of frickin crybabies. You have no idea what the materials alone cost. And to compare this stuff with Punisher's door pulls? PLEASE! Punishers stuff is very nice, I bought 2 sets from him. But Punisher will be the first to tell you this isn't comparing apples to apples. Trying to tell Greg that there is competition and he needs to lower his pricing is disgraceful.

I am pissed just typing this stuff. Maybe if $120 for gorgeous billet knobs is too much you shouldn't be concerned with that. The car game is an expensive game, and it's not for everyone, especially not tire kickers.

Sorry for the rant. Holy ****, where's the Tylenol? Sorry for wrecking your thread Greg, I can't stand cheap bastards and/or people who don't understand you have to pay for quality. You get what you pay for in this world.

You know, it used to be the oldtimers who would cry about the prices and didn't understand that quality costs money...and I kind of understood that since they were old school and didn't really understand or appreciate high end merchandise...but now it's the younguns without a pot to piss in crying about something they shouldn't be spending their money on anyway. If you have to complain about the price, its probably not for you.

Someone take my laptop away from me before I REALLY start to get mad.

I am still in on the dash plates, just got to build some more money after spending it all on the engine rebuild and Dan's headers. What is the time frame on making one off plates. I take it that they will be made after the other stock ones since you have to change programming. Let me know.

</font>[/QUOTE]I wasnt complaining about pricing at all it was the fact that I wanted the side scripts and was waiting on pricing. I was simply stating that people wanted his knobs and Like he stated alot ran away when he posted the pricing. I want the knobs but didnt get to do the GP (all about timing) Far as his stuff compared to MBA his knobs do look better and the side script is a better design IMO. I like Punnisher because when he gonna produce he answers with the time and price and this guy didnt (so you can make your mind up).I have alot of MBAs products. Not the engine stuff tho ( Im picky and would have to polish it everyday :D ). Those where the masterpieces that he made but from just the pic Toads stuff looks better and design wise (knobs and side scripts...thats all hes made)I never said he needed to lower pricing either that he needed to let us know if it was gonna be available or not and stop let us drool over his design. I want the knobs now but he wants a GP order and Im waiting on the next one.

Its easy are you gonna make them and whats the price is all I ask and seeing what happened with the knobs was to watch pricing because that is what run people away. Far as MBA goes on pricing Not ALL but some items were overpriced. It was the wow factor that made people want them. Thats just the facts. I have 3 pots and tub to piss in. Im very succesfull, debt free (but the home)and having fun hope you are too.

First, let me thank you for coming out with this one of kind "custom" item for our cars. I don't know where else to get something like this or how much I would've paid some shop to make me only 1.

So put me down for "Blown SS", polished with red lettering.

Where do you want me to send funds?

Thanks,
Jose

Put me down for a polished Impala SS with no paint. Email me your address as I will be sending a money order. I am still overseas so it will take it 5-7 days for the payment to get to you. I will have you ship it to my mother's address in the states...

Whatever you claim to be thinking didn't come out that way. You can backtrack all you want but you said what you said. Sounds to me like you were commenting on pricing and telling Greg he needs to be aware of what another vendor is doing price-wise. BTW, when you say US as in bring US in or run US away that makes you one of the people complaining about pricing.

$26.00 seems very fair I will take a polished dash plate with Impala SS painted black ( I understand the painting can be time consuming and a pain in the ass so I understand the $10 no problem)

@ BIG KAHUNA, you simply need to calm yourself down, maybe you dont really understand peoples financial situation do you?? we all cant be Auncle Moneybags can we??? Sense you seem to be a "big spender" maybe you can buy my dashplate for me.

Im sorry but you really sound like a cry baby, with big words and thats about it.
