I have a bare-bones 9C1. Full size spare but no trunk carpet or anything, just trunk floor between rear quarter panels. I have a fairly small (12" X 8" X 2") Sony 4-channel amp I want to mount in the trunk, but I have no idea what to attach it to. Anybody have way to build a mounting location that would attach somewhere?

I'm not looking to pop the trunk to show off my beautiful custom amp mount, I just need something that will work.

Thanks!

You can build your own Baffle style board and mount the board to the back of the seat (behind the spare). Then mount your amp to that. The Baffle will be 46"x11" and you will have to trim it around a few things to make it fit perfect. I would not mount the amp upside down on the rear deck!

Thanks Hack. I spent a good half hour sitting in my trunk staring at where I wanted to put the amp but never thought of a board to mount the amp to.

Seems that space is kinda tight with the full size spare so I'll probably either mount it under the front passenger seat (it is just narrow enough to fit) or come up with some kind of rig for the trunk that attaches to the rear seat brace. This mount will have to hold the amp at a 45' angle so it fits width-wise between the spare and the wheel well.

Or I might just give up on it and throw the amp in the Suburban we'll be buying soon. Plenty of space in there...

One thing I won't do is pay to have it installed. Circuit City said approx. $100 to install, Best Buy said $70 if I have ALL the wire they need to use or (and I quote) "A LOT more" if they have to add any wire.
