Quick question regarding lowering springs with stock wheels/tires on an all stock 96 SS (255/50 17). Will the tires rub front or back with a mild 1 to 1.5 inch drop spring? Also any suggestions on what brand spring to use? Thanks for any help!

No, there will be no rub. As far as springs, you really need to do a search because there are so many options, it's hard to get in to. I had Intrax springs on my car and it was loooooow, but no rubbing issues.

95% of the Impalas that are lowered are or have been running on stock sized tires, none of which are having rubbing issues.

Copy that. Don't wanna go to low and maybe run some 18's in the future! I'm just old school and like the look of the OEM wheels!
