Greetings,

Most of you have caught a post or two where I mention that I'm converting my setup to run without the opti and will be using the LS1 411 PCM, of which I'll be using the 85mm 5 pin MAF. I was wondering out of curiosity if anyone is using that same MAF with an LT1 pcm and if it's even possible? I can't locate the thread on the F-body forum where somone claimed to have done this. I know the earlier LS MAFs were very similar (if not identical) to the 3.5" MAF of the LT1 so more insight would be greatly appreciated.

Gotcha...someone was interested in the MAF I was selling and I swear someone had devised a method to use this with our stock PCMs. Thanks Rocko!

It was here . It was a gen 3 truck MAF. I hav the tranfer table data on my laptop at home. I thing beertstr was one opf the guys involved. Maybe it was Hussker. It was one of those guys...

It was me, I did this math years ago...the original LS1 MAF is actually the same 3.5" MAF as the LT1 cars, except the screen is epoxied in rather than held in with a snap ring. This 5 wire MAF first came out in ZO6's and trucks...was never used in the F-Body.

Thanks Mike! So is it still possible to use the 85mm Truck/ZO6 MAF on LT1 cars without converting the PCM? I can't open that file but I'll point Rocko back to this thread as I'm sure he has software that can.

I truly appreciate the help!

Yes, you can use that MAF with an LT1 PCM. You need the right connector, and you can actually remove your original intake air temp sensor as well. The 5 wire MAF's have both MAF and IAT in the same sensor, makes it a little cleaner.

I did some research on the IAT calibration as well at the same time, and the info I was able to get says the original seperate IAT and the IAT in the 5 wire MAF are the same...so you literally just bring those 2 wires, and the 3 MAF wires, into the new connector, plug it in, and you can use my spreadsheet for starting data for the MAF calibration. It will never be perfect with my spreadsheets as the entire air intake affects the calibration, and your intake is likely not identical to a ZO6 or a truck, but it should get you started down a path that any competent tuner can complete.
