Ok, so my steering box has taken a dump, it's dripping a constant steady drip-drip-drip, about half a liter a week.

I've changed steering boxes before but never in a b-body, and the one time I attempted to disassemble one, it was a complete mess and never went back together. And all the experiences I've heard from others have tried and failed at that too lol.

So the question is, is it feasible to try and replace the pitman arm seal, or should I replace the box? And if so, what kind of a job is it to change them? I hear it's a bitch on b-bodies.

You can change pitman seals in the car by removing the pitman arm, circlip and cranking the wheel to lock.
It will blow right out into the bucket you have below.
Now that being said, with the part of the country you are from, don't even bother!
99% chance your pitman shaft will be corroded at the seal area and will never seal.

Removal is easy. Drop the sway bar for more access and the box will slide down and out the bottom.
Again, being you are in the east be prepared to replace the high-pressure line as it will be "welded" into the box.

well if that's the case, I figure I'll pull the seal anyway to see if it's worth replacing. But nothing else falls out when you pull the seal? No damn needle bearings or anything?

The order of things up there should be.
Circlip
Steel spacer
Double lip seal
Steel spacer
Single lip seal.

There is a change over point in the 90's that had some with only one seal but I THINK yours will have the two.

As I said once the clip is out turning the wheel to lock (to the right if memory serves) with the engine running will blow the seals and washers out.

You will need a piece of tube to act as a driver to reassemble.
If there is any rust or pitting on the shaft you will need to remove the sector to clean or replace it.
