The PO of my otherwise pristine 96SS handled the steering wheel with some kind of solvent on his hand. The result was the paint softened and slid up into a "ridge" then rehardened. I have the SEM products to refinish it, I just don't know how to get rid of that ridge first. I don't want to sand it as that would remove the texture on the wheel. Anyone know a way to safely get this off?

Also interested in this topic!

My Blue steering wheel has a lot of black where the color has rubbed off :frown2:

I'd also be interested in hearing of good steering wheel covers if people have recommendations. I have found quite a few in the local car part shops that just look cheap or cheesy... but there must be some decent ones out there.

Leather Steering Wheel Covers Manufacturer and Distributor

I had one of these covers on my 9C1 years ago. Good leather, very durable. The stitching gives a very good grip.

They use real leather and the waxed line for YOU to stitch it up is supplied. In my opinion the best out there, nothing that just slides over the wheel can compare.
