I recently signed on for lifetime premium membership and paid with paypal. Besides the $40 charge which I expected there is a $1.20 charge also. Can you tell me what this is for?

Service charge. That's how they make money. I was one of the very first Paypal members long before ebay bought them. One of the founding principles was that there would be no service charge. Ironically, I had what was called a "grandfather clause", (LOL). So when newer members had fees, I didn't, until............new owners, things changed. Now we all pay.

There are some reports that ebay makes more on Paypal than on ebay itself.

I really don't have a problem with this, I just wish they would say something about it. if you pay with a credit card there are also fees involved that never get passed to the consumer. Why is paypal such an issue?

Thanks. Now makes the 7th reason Ima glad I ditched PP. When I was with them only the seller paid a fee.
I guess I should pay a little more attention. The fees are paid by who? I thought the person receiving the funds has to pay fees. Not the sender right? Just wondering.

On a related subject.. so what's the advanatage of becoming a member to this site? What do we get for the 15 or 40 bucks we kick in? I mean I saw the message count, avatar and alll of the other stuff but why else?

It seems to me the site is not getting a steady revenue from the advertisers that I see here so what's the advantage.

I'm asking because I'm willing to kick in but what will I get for my contribution? Thanks.
Paying for the forum is a different subscription than paying membership to the ISSCA club. This forum and the carclub are not the same thing.

You hopefully get a continual database of invaluable information. These things cost money to run, and time. Time I'm not willing to give up of my personal free time. If they make some bank off of it, so be it. I just have issues I have to hopefully resolve w/ the new management. I paid, I guess hit it twice, so got charged twice, disputed it w/ PP, got reimbursed for one fee, which is what I wanted, but now my membership no longer exists either...
