There is black tape on the center pillar between the doors on my 93 RMS, and it's bubbling and coming off so I started peeling it off completely.

What's the best way to make them black again? Paint them or tape them. Anyone else had this problem?

Paint or plasti dip

I painted mine with Duplicolor satin. Look fine, but seem to have lost some "depth".
Never thought of Plasti-dip. That may have been the way to go.

I plan on painting ours after I get the windows tinted, probably satin.

See all types of inexpensive covers on ebay. Chrome,black,carbon-fiber,etc,etc...

Most likely they are painted. Another option...Electrical Tape. I used ET to cover the Chrome Bumper inserts on my Black Caprice bumpers.

It covered them and held up well for years and looked pretty good until I could replace them with Impala strips. It wasn't quite as shiney as the painted bumpers but matched pretty well and looked better than the chrome. It even had a seam cause I needed 2 pieces of 1" wide ET I had. You may be able to find some wide enough to cover the pillars. If you don't like it, just peel it off.
