So my car on the highway started to sort of stopped accelerating on and off for like 3 seconds. At the exhaust shop I replaced the whole exhaust minus manifolds. Guy said my car was misfiring btw. I got Cat-Co cats and a dynomax ultra-flo ss system. Plugs and wires are also new. Why is it doing this?

This belongs in engine problems/maintenance.

That being said, did you replace the exhaust in an effort to fix this? Have you checked to make sure that all the plug wires are seated on the plug and on the Opti? Is the CEL on? Have you checked fuel pressure?

yeah i replaced the exhaust hoping this would solve it. changing the cats made a little difference but it still acts up. The CEL is on and I checked most of the plugs I could get to and they felt snug. how do i check fuel pressure?

Where are you in NC?

You need a fuel pressure test gauge ~ Harbor Freight for under $20 or borrow one. There's a test port on the fuel rail at the rear intake [like a bicycle tire valve.

With the key on/engine off it should read 41+ PSI and hold.
