we have a power acoustic padvd-20 mobile dvd player in our van,. it's giving me trouble,. it won't play some dvd's, it freezes,. it is just unreliable,. it will play an old harry potter dvd that is just so beaten up it defies logic,.
i,ve lost the instructions directions etc,. can this thing be tuned? adjusted?? anybody know about such things??
thanks

More than likely any repair would be more expensive than the unit is worth.

For the money a reputable repair shop would charge you'd be well on the way to a new DVD player

Yea or try some cleanin methods,if you got a shopvac that blows air out put it where the dvds go and let it blow alot of air in there, try it because it worked for me i had a impala ss stereo that would only play like two CDs then i did that and it plays all of them now!!!!!

I have two mobile dvd players that I have taken out. I upgraded DVD players, one with an indash and the other was upgraded to a model that mounts horizontal and vertical. If you are intersted let me know. Both come with remotes and IR remote eye.

Thanks eh? i appreciate the offer,.i took the unit apart last night,. it seems that some dvd's have a slightly smaller centre hole, which doesn't allow the disc to properly sit down on the rubber drive ring,.so i scored the centre hole open slightly more on a new dvd that wouldn't play, and it worked!! i;ll be trying this mod with some of the other dvd's today,.
i did clean the lens with rubbing alcohol too, but it looked just the same after i was done, and the 'Q' tip didn't show any traces of grime,i noticed that there is no adjustment for the lense to move it closer to the disc,.I have the dvd player hooked to a 13" lcd tv that runs off an inverter, i,ve been considering changing over to a 110v dvd unit, but i,m hesitant because if i remember correctly the mobile units have circuitry that deals with bumps and rough roads better? (anti-skip?)
