Paul, I noticed your sig:

93 9C1,ported WP Torquer heads, 206°/210°Comp Cams,SLP headers, full duals with Edelbrock cat back, Jacobs ignition,TBI spacer,modded TBI,Ed Wright chip, sewer pipe intake
cut front springs, SS rear springs, F-body front sway bar,billet LCAs


...and am wondering, have you had your 9C1 to the track? How does your combo work for you? Have a web page? Looks like a real nice combo for the TBI engine you have there. :cool:

Pauls' in our CarClub, BADASS: That car is Sweet, it sounds so good with the cam in it too.

I know he has had it to the track, and it runs really good for a TBI, Im not really sure what he has in the motor, but its pretty well done up.
I dont want to lie and make up some time when Im not sure what it runs, but I know its a low 15 ( im almost postive ;) )

Thanks for the info - is that metallic burgundy Caprice Paul's car? Looks real nice!

Hope Paul reads this, sure would like to get some info on his combo.

Hi Dave,

As Jon said, the car has been to the track a few times and my best so far is 15.50. Best this year was 15.60. The combo works for me. I have been trying make the time to really work on getting a vacuum adjustable pressure regulator to work but so far have made only a couple limited attempts. I installed a gauge pod this year with vacuum, fuel pressure and air/fuel gauge to help tune the whole thing. I should learn to log some data from the computer too, but I haven't progressed that far. As you have already done, I did get to install a Transgo kit with the Vette servo.

Jon, thanks for the compliments. When we get together at the dragstrip with the LT-1ers,I usually have to leave the dragstrip with a renewed sense of humility. Heard any talk about a get together before the winter really hits?

Paul, no problem, you and your car deserve those compliments. As for going to the track, I havent heard any news as of yet, I do know this saturday, Nov 2, there having a "headerfest" with jeffs blue caddy, Since my car is trannyless for the t56 swap, I dont think I can make it, but that is the most up-to date thing I know of.

Paul, thanks for the write-up on your car. Looks like you have given your combo a lot of thought. I too have read good things on the GM vFPR, and have considered purchasing one. My take on that is, I would need to remove the spring from the stock regulator (and my quarter mod) to utilize this part.

As for data logging and diagnostics, I recommened Turbo Link (see link in my sig), which works great. You have up to 5 minutes of datalogging to file while making test runs, which is perfect for G tech or track testing. You also have a choice of either graphical or text mode.

I think of the the biggest problems for our TBI cars is lack of airflow in the higher mid range and up, esp. when mods are done to increase flow through the engine (heads, cam).

What is your ET/mph goal with your car?

My goal is to crack into the 14's or hit 90mph in the quarter mile without adding NOS.
It may take a few years to get there as I don't put alot of money into the car. I did the engine mods the second year I had the car(4 1/2 now) but have limited spare funds to put into mods. The mods I did this year, I bought for myself last Christmas (Trans kit, poly bushings for the LCAs I made). Other than that it's low $ stuff a little at a time.

I have started to entertain the idea of swapping torque converters next year and am watching ebay for a big block TBI for an eventual conversion once I learn how to make chips.

The torque converter idea is a great one. The 1996 S10 truck converter is actaully a Corvette L98 piece, with 2000-2200 stall. I hear it really helps, and in your case with the more aggessive cam, might be the hot ticket. Best thing about this is its GM quality, and if you order it from the dealer it will be new, not a reman. Its also only about $160 if I hear right. Great value for the buck spent.

14's in a TBI Caprice would make me very happy. At last, parity with the LT1! :D

You've got a pretty good start on mods, yourself. Is it as stock looking as the picture in sig? Stay with the sleeper look.

What do you use the Turbolink for? I am intrigued after looking at their webpage. E-mail with the info. The topic of this thread has about been exhausted.
