Equal parts white vinegar and water. And/or run Ozone machine afterwards.

Take it all out. Seats and carpet. Pressure wash the carpet, use an extractor on it, hang to dry. Use the extractor on the seats. Clean the floor pans. Wipe down all the interior plastics, Febreeze the headliner (at a minimum). Wait until seats and carpet are bone dry before putting everything back in.

Anybody know of a good affordable extractor that works?
I've detailed/extracted a lot of devil's with a portable Rug Dr. , Maguiars apc. & Nylon brushes. Any portable extractor should work fine. There great investments. It sounds like you're interior requires one at minimum to achieve restoration.👍 good luck.

You can use a wet/dry vacuum and a scrub brush too.
YEP.

I went the Home Depot rented route when I yanked the carpet and trunkmat from my 'new' 20-yo driver. The pump shot craps midstride and I finished most the whole job with my large wet/dry vac. I used a different (much more economical) rug shampoo than what HD sold, but just used a scrub brush and rinsed 'n vacuumed numerous times until the rinse came clean. Funny, I called the store more frustrated than angry, and the manager refunded everything and gave me a gift card. Nice day overall.

And earlier this year my Impala SS getting stored outside took rain from the common 'behind the taillight leak' and had some mildew. I just sprayed some non-bleach mildew root killer and set the mat in the sun all day. Then the shampoo and brush and wet vac and all nice again - smell gone.
