Ok, it's time i throw in the head unit. I've checked out the wires on the stock harness, looked at my Haynes book and my new harness. I was hoping i could just hook up the stock harness to the radio but dont think i can since hte new one has a fuse inline and all. Now here's where i'm confused. The new harness only uses a few of these old stock hookups. I know hte hot wires, ground and remote wires. The last wire to hook up is the "lighting switch terminal" wire (new harness - Orange). What wire does that correspond to on the old harness?

Finally, how did y'all hook up these new wires? Did you cut/solder? Just push the wire into the harness or what? Please help me get this in today. Thanks!

I spent ten bucks or so and bought an adaptor at Circuit City, or someplace like that. The adaptor connected to the stock harness and was labeled, I believe, so that you can tell what's what. That way, I didn't have to cut the stock harness. I soldered and shrink wrapped all the connections from the adapter to the headunit. Another advantage to this is that you can do it outside the car. Then, when you're ready to install, you just plug the new headunit into the stock harness. If you don't have one already, you'll also need an adapter for the antenna lead. GM uses a smaller size then aftermarket. HTH
