damn, mother nature got me.
i was on my way to work this morning and pciked up a slide on a turn. thanks to my non functioning abs  , i had to pump the pedal my self and wham, i go sliding into a jetta. i came out a little shaken but my car wasn't as lucky. bumper, d/s headlight assembly, grille, d/s fender, hood, all gone.
i would have drove way from the accident but the ignition is messed up. neither car was leaking anything and my car was still running after i hit them. the jetta is pretty much done. amazingly, the story doesn't stop here.

the driver of the car hopped out, gave the driver a cig and took her phone then walked off. he kindly told me "I'm not in it" as he walked past me. the passenger claimed her legs hurt and she couldn't move, then climbed over the shifter and sat in the driver seat and waited for the cops. the cops showed up and i let them know the driver strolled off and the passenger was faking it. the cops went off and grabbed the fake driver and ems helped out the "injured" passenger. cop told me it was an accident based on weather conditions and i'm not getting a ticket and i'm not sure how they'll handle the rest of the stuff. now i just gotta pick up the car from the towing company and see how bad everything is or leave the car and take all my stereo equipment. hopefully my insurance won't go up. bad part of all this is that now i'm out of a car
and i was about to sell this caprice and go pick up a 93. i'm gonna have to drive my taurus until another b-body comes along that i can pick up. i'm not sure how to load pics on here so if anyone can load them for me let me know, i'll send them over.

thanks, i'll send them from my camera phone to your email address. i'm waiting on a call back from the insurance company. they can't do much until they hear something from the other driver so right now i'm stuck. guess this car is going to the junk yard if i can't find someone to take her as a junker. right about now i wish i had a garage so i could part it out.

i was thinking about that, but i gotta see where my car is going. it was for sale locally, but it was also for sale on ebay. just so happens it sold this morning and the guy sent me a paypal deposit. i've already mailed him back letting him know so i don't knwo if he'll buy it for parts or want his money back. if he's not interested, i'll see if i can work out a deal with the guy i was gonna buy my 93 from. if he doesn't want parts from it then it's up for a 3 day auction on fleabay then off to the yard if it doesn't go. i made a few calls and found cheap b-bodies so i'll be back in business soon. :D

I'm just posting as you sent to me, as the program I got for resizing does not help with distortion.

really sorry to hear about it. I wrecked my caprice this summer, and it's just now getting to be like it was. looking at that damage, it looks a lot like mine, and mine cost a total of about $1200 to fix, replacing the panels myself, and having the paint done. Again, sorry to hear it. Good luck

the guy at the tow yard showed me a cream colored caprice he could pull parts from and fix my car for. he said he'll call on monday with an estimate. someone else said they can get me all the parts i need for $100, but the pics don't show all the other damage on the car. it might cost more to fix it then it's worth, considering that i still would have to find out why the ignition is sticking since the damage didn't go past the front bumper. hell, it didn't even mess up the coolers in the front of the condensor. plus i already have one car in the garage that needs a trans so i can't park it there and i can't have it on the street. right now i'm just debating on what to do since i wanted to get a 92-93 anyway since the parts are a bit cheaper. i'll miss the power of an lt1 though. hell, car was dyno'd and still had 225 horses left in it. not bad for a beat up cop car. guess i'll sell it for 700 or so. motor, trans, and rear are still good. just don't have the funds for the body and repaint.

damn, i wish i had known you could do body work. hell, you would have gotten a few kegs for some good work. it all good. i just came back from test driving a blue 93 with 90,xxx miles on it. i'm picking it up on monday for 1200. not a bad deal, just has an exhaust leak on the driverside. sounds like the car is asking for headers. :D anyways, i'll keep you guys posted and thanks for the concern. if anyone local to me(i'm in philly) wants to buy the car for a few hundred for parts let me know soon. i can't part it out so i'll just get rid of the whole thing cheap. motor, trans, driveshaft, rear all good.

ok, why would you get a ticket for an accident?

why would you let the driver leave the scene?

well, if they would have thought i was speeding or under the influence, i would have gotten a ticket or worse. and if he had a gun it aint worth gettin shot if you see the cop car coming.
the cop fishtailed coming around the corner responding to the call so he understood when i said i slid.
no worries, i'm buying a 93 caprice on monday as planned. it's only 1200 with 90,xxx miles and no body damage! :D just needs a paint job, the front is faded. i got someone to buy my 96 for 800, basically for the motor and trans. i'll try to get someone to post pics of the 93 or me when i get them and more pics of the damaged 96. it's ashame that my car is an easy fix and they're considering totaling the jetta.

well, the new car is here. i must say that i'm pleased. 93 9c1, 90,790 miles, faded light blue paint, GU6/G80, gray interior with blue seats(no idea why). it needs a little tlc, the exhaust manifold blew a gasket so it sounds like i'm running the car with cutouts, and the intake has a minor leak. other then that it's good to go. cops serviced it 20,000 miles ago. i think it came from berkly county, nj. unmarked with a spot light that still works and one antenna in the roof. i think i'm gonna have fun working on this car, seems so much tighter then the 96. if anyone can post pics for me, i have a few of the new car and some of the old one the day of the accident and today after it got towed home.
