Hi Danny, nice thread and vids ! If you haven't got a plan for body dolly maybe check the C3 section of the vette forums, as i've seen tons of threads talking about home-made ones. CorvetteForum - Chevrolet Corvette News and Rumors

So how many miles does it have ? Is the plan to just restore so runs like a car with 30K miles on it or you hot rodding it a little ?

BTW i'm in CT too.

P.S. Nice play on words with the "Finestra" sign. ;-)

ALF the car has 186,000 miles on it. I plan on doing suspension upgrades and rebuilding the engine and tranny. I am still looking into performance upgrades for the LT1. Thanks for the link to the vette forum gave me some insight to the body dolly build. You from CT too...so you know the rust battle well. Thanks for tuning in.

Dude that looks super sketchy. I don’t feel comfy looking at it knowing that you have kids around.
I know you’re being safe about it, I just don’t like seeing heavy things elevated like that.
be safe is all

This is all temporary until I build the dolly. I wouldn’t recommend anyone doing this but having lifted houses off foundations, supported upper level of porches while repairing the lower level, moving and staging many heavy pieces equipment and moving stones and heavy blocks that weigh in the tons. I have a lot of experience with rigging heavy items. I enjoy the challenge especially when access to equipment is limited. Garage is locked and I have the key when I am not around. Again do not try this at home.

Hi, nice Frame vid. Are you taking the opportunity to align the rear tires in the wheel well or does that not bother you ?
Also heard you say you gonna do a tranny rebuild, my SS needs tranny now cuz reverse is slipping after 300K and wondered if you had a place picked that you trust to do the rebuild ?
I have only heard good things word of mouth about Terry's in Ashford, Ct. I do have reg mech i take all my cars too but not sure he will want to deal with upgrades and shift kit type stuff i wanna do while we're in there...
BTW i have 96 and everyone says the odo is in the cluster and not the PCM, and i think you said this is a 95.
Is it really true the mileage is in the PCM and in the cluster ? that seems like something GM would not waste time/money putting same info in 2 places.....?
Anyway thanks for the update.

A couple of years back I bought a QA1 suspension kit that included the control arms to align the rear tires in the opening, So yes i am aligning the rear tires. I am going to have Talcott transmission in West Hartford CT rebuild my transmission they are very close to my work, this will be my 3rd transmission they will rebuild for me and I have been very happy with their service. These 4l60e are so common that any Tranny shop that's been around for any decent amount of time has already had plenty of practice and should do a good job on them. If they provide a decent warranty you'll be good. I would recommend always going with the guy closest to were you live that way its not a hassle picking it up and dropping it off. Talcott recently rebuilt a 6l80e tranny for me and it comes with a 3 year unlimited milage warranty I put on a lot of miles so that was a good deal for me. We were able to read milage off of the PCM using a GM tech 2 scanner I am going to make a video in the near future on the tech 2 scanner and great tool with a lot of ability even on a OBD1 car.
