- I did the complete front end rebuild earlier this year. I went for the full-on Bill Harper/GW install including 11/16" screw-in lower ball joints. Moog "T" series for everything else.

The handling characteristics of my wagon are nothing less than amazing compared to stock.

I took some pics of the process, and now - 6 or 7k miles later, have finally posted them here: Harper/GW Front End

Special thanks to Bill Harper (NavyLifer)and Gerry Charlesworth (95Wagon)

Very nice page, thanks for all your hard work! This is one mod/repair that's in everyone's future, in some form or another.

Any idea about replacing those 11/16 ball joints when and if they wear out? Bigger deal than stock, or easier because of the threads?

Jay,

Nicely Done!! :D

I wish I had the time and talent to create a web page the way you did on this.

I also did the Bill Harper upgrade to my Impy with the differences of 5/8" Ball Joints and the Offset Upper Arms, I also did the Del A Lums along with a complete replacment of all my front end components Inc Gearbox and Hotchkis Springs Sway Bars & HAL Shocks. It is a different vehicle.

Money WELL Spent. :D

- Thanks Nemesis

- Thanks pb.

R&R the 11/16" Lowers will require a socket. I expect to acquire one of my own economically by the time I need it.

The stockers require a press of some sort to R&R.

I guess the difference is about what tools you have available. Other than that it's probably a wash.
