I am considering buying this 1996 Impala SS just wanting to make sure its legit and not a clone can anyone please help.

Look on the RPO data plate. It will be a sticker located on the uderside of trunk lid or in glovebox. It'll be a 4x5" sticker with a bunch of 3 digit codes. Look for WX3. Thats' the RPO for the SS.

If you want more info, PM me the VIN and I can tell you more about it. You have 20 min left today or wait till monday.

Also. look at the top of the antenna. A caprice is round, an SS is hex.

Look for WX3 on the SPID (options label) on the inside of the truck lid, and make sure the VIN on the SPID matches the VIN under the windshield.
