Hey guys, finally picked up a black 96 SS yesterday, I've been wanting one for a long time and finally decided to drop the hammer and buy one. It needs some love so I will be cruising the forum for tips and tricks. I look forward to being getting this thing back to mint shape!

Welcome to the forum. I was born on Long Island, but got drafted in 1965 and never went back. Post some pictures of your new ride. Plenty of smart and helpful people here to help you (I'm not 1 of them)

I haven't taken any new pics, these are from when I was looking to buy it, I'll be sure to post some new one as soon as I take them!
Looks like you have a great place to start. The car looks nice and clean to me, good luck on your project. Will it be a daily driver for you?

Nope, it will just be a weekend cruiser. It needs an interior, the seats are pretty shot, I have to either re-cover them or find new ones. I'm going to take the carpet out and try to clean it, the cluster needs to be repaired as well as a few other minor things. It will be a fun project, and hopefully when its done it'll be very presentable.

Welcome aboard !!!
nice ride, it will be cool to see the actual mileage once you do the odom fade fix... haa haa

Start there if you need a confidence booster, it's pretty easy if you buy the kit, you can make the fix
if you are handy with electronics.

Mines a DD so i went Bonnies instead of redoing the stock seats.....way more lumbar support.

Plenty of folks on here from New England to help along the way !
Have Fun ....
-ALF out....
