whats up everyone? This past weekend I went over to west coast customs for their garage sale, looking for the best deal on whatever I found,no real intent to buy anything.I just parted my full show vw and was taking a break but somehow left with a 96 ss that had been sitting at their shop for almost 5 years. The previous owner had comissioned them to build it and unfortunately ,passed away. I have had a couple other gm big bodies in the past, and I am really excited to turn this diamond in the rough, into a beautiful gem.Check it out, please don't laugh at me! :D

cool.. hopefully its complete. but if not this place is a good sorce for parts
its mostly all there, save for the interior and items on the outside.I already managed to get most the interior plastics from the junkyard and scored some front seats yesterday. Right now its bagged, and even though,I love air ride(was on my last car), I am goin to remove it for drop springs/shocks. Since I am starting from damn near scratch, I am going change the color from black to dcm and shave the antenna and remove the moldings as well. It came with the street trendz smooth bumpers and numerous billet interior and exterior bits. Luckily I have an understanding wife and a everyday driver, but the goal is to be cruising by summer.

It looks like a nice start... do I see a sunroof in it?
Good luck!
ya has a sunroof hole, hahha. Was going to go rag top, till I saw the miles on it. So I don't want to do something to it, so extreme, it can't be undone, for resale in the long run. Since headliner is missing, I will take it down to a local sunroof shop, figure out where to go with that, then have to go to my interior guy and let him figure out the headliner situation. My body guy gave me the option of replacing the roof skin also, but could be about 800$ to do it.

will do! this place is way more fun, inviting and exciting, then any other forum I have been a part of, in a long time. That's saying alot, considering I have 10k plus posts on the vw boards, haha.
Well ill tell you the first good idea was to move away from that forum, and the VW and HELLO! Impala ss, way more class and flash anyway lol. besides restoring it and throwing the 22's on it do you have any big plans? motor work? etc etc.

hahaha I love my vw's, but secretly I always wanted an ss. I have had a deville, a 75 caprice convertible as well as my first car was an 85 caprice.I would like to do a nice grey leather on grey suede interior, nice sound system and then focus on the motor. Right now it has a k*n intake set up, but the exhaust and headers have been completely removed, so I plan to replace those with aftermarket goodies. Once its painted and drive able, I wil focus more toward the performance side of things.

Sounds good man. If you haven't already I would pop into the performance section, very clearly outlines the easy steps to really gain some horses through aftermarket parts and modifications. Simply having a intake whether it is the home made or high class, a free flowing exhaust, headers, and a nice rear end with 373 gears and posi plus a computer tune and you will be feeling it all right!

Going to have to venture over there, I been stuck in searching the internet for a reasonably priced center console for 2 days, haha. I figure if I am going to rebuild/replace damn near everything else, why skimp on the go fast!
