New to alarms, need info (or suggestions)

I have a 93 Caprice and I have been shoping around for alarms. I have come to the conclusion that it is best to buy the alarm online and have it installed.
Of these two alarms, which is the best bang for the buck.
Or could somone please post some alarm suggestions.
(The most I would like to pay for the alarm is $80)

It seems like a good deal to me, Is this a quality company?
Excaliber alrams have been around for YEARS! The first one I installed was in a 1984 s-10 blazer. That was back in 1990 and I owned that truck for 4 years. Never had a problem with it.

They are a cheaper alarm but to be honest for the price your looking to spend thats your best bet.

Are you going to install it yourself?

Cool, thanks alot. I was planning to have it installed at a shop in my area, I was thinking about doing it my self also but that's alot of wires.

check with the shop on the install price BEFORE you buy anything. Some shops won't even install what they dont sell!

I have had quite a few cars with the astra alarms. They are very good alarms for the price. The local stereo shop sells them for 70. or 150. ish with install. The problem with them is the remote is kind of big. The battery covers on some need a tiny bit of file work to keep the lock tab on tight. If your super rough with your keys these are not a good choice. Like if you drop them a lot. Also they do not come with any relays. If you dont have the money for a viper the astra is a great choice. The viper has way better range. Also the new astra ones come with the flashing led in the antenna so you do not have to drill a hole in the dash.

Set up a circuit with a switch and a blinking LED. Turn the LED on when you leave your car. If they are not deterred by a blinking light and they want your s%^t bad enough, they are gonna get it.
