i would have full exhaust w/ headers the RAISS intake ported mass air and 3.73 gears. wit a 100 shot of juice would the stock tranny hold up and if so for how long the car now has 65k on her

The stock tranny is not as week as everyone seems to think ... I have literally pounded on mine for 125,000 miles (AutoCross, Road Race, Drags) and never broke it ... I was just starting to get some slipping on the 1-2 shift at WOT so I had it rebuilt... had all the good stuff put in it; 5 gear planetaries, Kevlar band, Raybestous clutches, Gorilla Sun Shield , etc. now I wouldn't say that putting Nitrous to it would be a health thing ,but; If you run a window switch (I'm using the MSD window switch) to shut the Nitrous off just before the shift; it should live a long life ...
the Impala Record is 10.02 @ 136 MPH on a 4L60E tranny ... He has switched to a TH400 now but if it can handle a car running 10's I think it can handle a little 100 shot of juice.
It's working for me ......... :D

Also I believe it matters what year Impala you have and thus what year tranny you are running. I have heard that the in late '95 and into '96 they made some rather extensive improvements to the 4L60E, including use of the 13 vane pump. Maybe someone with more knowledge of our transmissions can chime in to provide more info for us.

BTW, Yes my tranny is stock and so far is holding up.. I have run the heads/cam for over a year and the nitrous for three sessions at the track so far.

you could do a search ;)

basically it turns the nitrous on at a certain RPM and then turns it off at a certain RPM trying to avoid spraying during the shifts to hope the tranny lives longer

OK I agree with Kenny, it all depends on the tranny.
I have been running the stock tranny for about 30 11's and shift through the spray with no window switch so lets here some noise.
I had the tranny open last week looks like a new tranny inside. No problems knock knock!!! :D :D :D

That's awesome Kenny! I think your tranny may outlast your engine after reading your other post. :D
