Hi, I recently installed a new 383 stroker engine with:

Cam: Comp Cams

Lifters: Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller

Pushrods: Comp Cams Magnum

Valve Springs: Comp Cams

Rocker Arms: Comp Cams Pro Magnum 7/16 Full-Roller 1.5 Ratio

Timing Set: GM LT4 roller timing set

and it sounds terrible, like somebody shaking a bag of nails under the hood. I've adjusted to zero lash plus 1/2 a turn, but it hasn't helped. Any ideas welcome.

If you get rid of the roller rockers it will quiet it down.
I tried everything to lose the sewing machine sound my valvetrain makes. I tried every valve lash imagineable, changed lifters, pulled the motor to check that the rear cam bearing was in correctly, composite valve covers...nothing.
Changing back to stock rockers as a test proved it was the Pro Magnums making the noise. There is nothing "wrong" with my valvetrain or adjustment, it's just noisy, and I live with it.
