Hello. I've been a lurker here for many moons, but never posted.

I'm "Tim," 44, divorced, father to a 12yo boy, spent 15 years in the Army (11B), currently in PT school.

I have a 1994 9C1 I bought in Jan 2002. Most of the modifications occurred NLT 2006. Which include: Herter PCM, 2.5" Dynomax catback with resonators, 3inch aluminum driveshaft, 3.73 rear gears, and one or two small things I forget. It's mostly sat since 2017 but I've run it on occasion. It also came with a dealer / department installed CNG system which was nice for a bit, but ended up being a damn nightmare. So we removed it. Car still has the rear cage and plexiglass (which I keep detached for obvious access purposes) and rear door block plates (except one side because my son decided his boredom could be solved by removing the plate). Other than those, the car is original as I bought it from the turd who flipped it from the police auction.

I'm debating on selling it and yes I know that's another sub, not here. Just curious what it could be worth.

Hello and welcome!

I can't offer a true estimate on the value, but it does seem like those cars aren't going down in value at least. Yours seems to be one the less beat up patrol cars out there.
What state are you located in? I almost never see any Phoenix PD cars out here (in Phoenix AZ).

Phoenix, Arcadia area.

I'm just curious about a general value. I see generic Caprice's with engines and paint and all the bells and whistles going for upwards of $20k across the country, but don't see any real original, "mostly untouched" cars out there. I listed it on FB Marketplace  for $3500 just to see and got about a dozen bites, but only one who seemed like they wanted the car as it is, not to "mod it" and do all the dumb **** with it. I'd prefer it go to a hobbyist, not some idiot.

I'd say no less than $3500 for sure. If it were my car, I'd post it for like $5k and let someone talk me down to $4500 or $4000.

I'm in Maricopa, about 20 min south of Chandler, down the 347.

I considered that, but really had no idea. One guy messaged "lowest cash," and I responded: $3500.

I know where Maricopa, is. Never been 'there' specifically, but have driven by numerous times.

Thanks for the replies.

When someone put very little effort in thier txt message like "lowest cash". To me it shows the don't want it. I don't reply to people like that. Someone who is interested would ask questions about "has any tranny work been done?" That kind of thing.

Agreed. Also why I put the listed price... and waited weeks to reply. 😋

How many miles?

225k
I would delist it from FB. Your price is too low imo.

Since it still has most of the cop features. I would see what you can get on ebay. Vintage cop cars can fetch more than you think. Start with a high price. You can always come down.

Thank you!
You can try eBay but I think many on this forum overestimate these cars prices.

I would expect to sell it for around $4k. It’s not a collector car as there are much cleaner examples still floating about every so often. I think you priced it fairly.

Just my opinion though.

Do you still have the propane stuff?

A few years ago I purchased a 1994 9C1 that had been in service with Mesa Arizona. It also used the CNG and when I got the car the tank and the valve and some other parts were all still in the trunk. I sold them for $600 which is actually what I paid for the whole car. It was a rust free body with no motor or trans. I live in the heart of the rust belt so I had planned on using the body to repair or replace rust infected parts on one of my other 7 Caprices. I had people bugging me for the floor pans and the B-pillars so I ended up cutting the car up and sold nearly every inch of the car except the roof and the firewall and made a ton of money. Sure like deals like that one. :-}
