KW - The story I got was that it has not yet been decided. But the inside scoop is that it wiil likely be St. Louis with an outside chance it will go to Atlanta. But Atlanta is not likely to do a National during the same year they have an SSHS event. Maybe Atlanta next year when the SSHS event moves to another site?

I vote for it to be in Indy again.
Where else is there such a centrally located venue, awesome hotel/parking facilities, and exceptional resources for our fun and games (IRP and Putnam Road Course)? It will be hard to find such a place. And if everyone knows ahead of time the great times we had this year, and look forward to coming back, then that is going to help draw those that didn't come this year to come in 2007.
Just a thought.

I'd go back to Indy as well.

And as far as the Holiday weekend, I was pissed when I found out last year that it was going to be on the fourth. BUT... It turned out to be perfect! Only have to take off 4 vacation days from work and the fireworks just kicked ass... :D

I liked Indy as well and the road course didn't have walls that could hurt the blue racer. The only problem with keeping it at the same location is that we might run out of hotels that would welcome us to stay with them. ;) It is also nice to switch places so that family members that come for non-racing events on their vacation have an opportunity to go to new places to visit. It could get old real fast visiting the same zoo and museum each year. Remember, Happy Wife Means Happy Life.
Although, this wife would be happy racing at Indy every year!

Dean, check out past references to the I2K events in St. Louis in 2000 and 2002. Both of them have been hard to beat by any event held to date.

Road Course, AutoX, Drag Racing, and drive-thru Car Show/Soundoff - all within "the fence" of Gateway Raceway Park (proper name?).

Hell, and after the sun goes down, a motel parking lot is just about like any other motel parking lot we've visited in years past: virgin when we get there, looks like the approach end of an international airport runway when we leave :D

I would like to see St. Louis become our 'annual' site for the next couple of years; about as centrally located as we can get to everyone, and a nice facility in one location that has worked well in the past - twice!

Will 3 times be the charm? Gets my vote; no-brainer. Loved running the security guard's ass ragged back and forth across the Holiday Inn's parking lot as the Muncie Brothers and I sat up on the parking lot berm giving the high sign to the side of the parking lot that the guard wasn't in for the purposes of burn-out control without hassle. What a hoot! We had that security guard at the end of his rope and suckin' wind before he finally realized it was a loosing proposition for him.

Those were two fine events, and would love a three-peat!

BTW.....I'm down with StLo or Indi......or [email protected] near anywhere else; doesn't matter to me as long as the venue can support our events.

Don't like that July 4th week, though
; family reunion obligations being what they are.....but he11, that's just me
.

I was just wondering if the BoD was working a plan.
