How do they sit with the weight of the car on them?

Well I liked my old rims that I had but I decided to try something different out. I got a bug in my ass after I got an extremely good deal on a set of Baer brakes, but they weren't for an Imp of Caprice, so after talking with Baer (the secret society that WILL not give you any information), I decided to sell the kit, which I am hoping it will be gone here rather quickly, after talking with Tobin @ Kore3 about it.
Anyway, I was checking out different wheels didn't know what I wanted, but I did want to do a big brake set, so I found a set of calipers off a 2010 grand sport that had rolled off a truck at freeway speed. I got them for a VERY good price. One has some marks on it from the accident, but oh well, nothing a little touch up can't take care off.
So then I decided I would just go with the Z06 theme on my car, I could get the wheels pretty cheap, yeah I would have to run spacers, but who cares really, if they are designed right, there should be no problems with them. I bought a pair of spacers from Alex @ PCM performance he had laying around from Fred Goeske @ wheeladpaters.com. Anyway I knew these were made right, they are 3 inch adapters, but it would give me leeway if I had to cut them down at all. You will see why here in a second.
So after scouring the C6 forums, I located a set of wheels, chrome, from an 09 Z06, 18X9.5 in the front and 19X12 in the rear. After talking with the gentleman selling them, he wanted to part with the Goodyear supercar tires as well, with 900 miles on them. I got them at a steal.
Anyway I don't have the front mocked up yet as I want to get the brakes done then dink with the wheels and tires and make sure all the measurements are the same.
Here are the brakes. 6 piston front 4 piston rear, I will be using most of Tobin's stuff to complete the installation..

Here is the rear wheel mocked up with the 3 inch spacer, you will see that there is plenty of room from frame to tire, I am going to cut 1/2 inch off the spacer to start, if I don't like how it sits in the fender I will notch the frame and bring it under further. I was pretty afraid as I didn't know if I would like them or not, but I think that they are going to come out pretty good.

Thanks fellas, yeah Tobin is very cool, more than willing to answer any questions and what not. I am willing to pay more for just his knowledge, you know. I may try and figure out a different way for the parking brake, I need it and use it everytime I drive my car. The parking brake option from Tobin, is really pretty pricey, I will have to see how it works out. Yeah as far as the frame, after I get the 1/2 inch off the spacers, I think that it is going to be too close for me, so I will notch it, been wanting to anyway. But I will machine a 1/2 and inch off of the spacers, and by the way doing all the calculations without the wheels in hand, you would of thought that they would of looked perfect, oh well, but anyway, machine off a 1/2 in inch, put them on and say hey a 19X12 fits without cutting the frame LOL, I like the added comfort to be honest.
I am actually pretty surprised on how the wheels look, I was going back and forth in my head about them, but I couldn't beat the deal, I could sell them right now for more than I have in them easy. And I guess I figured I would go with a theme on my car, I think there is a new license plate in it's future.

Yeah I know, I really am beginning to think that UPS doesn't like me, doesn't matter whatever I get from them has some kind of damage to them, damn. I guess it is a shame that I am going to cut up the spindles that you sent me

I am surprised at your choice of wheel, not as a disappointment, but as having a deep lip on new wheels seems to be the pull lately, myself included. Yet they look good, real good!
Hard to beat a nice 5 spoke wheel, and you stepped outside the norm, and can't wait to see the car once she hits the ground.

I am surprised at your choice of wheel, not as a disappointment, but as having a deep lip on new wheels seems to be the pull lately, myself included. Yet they look good, real good!
Hard to beat a nice 5 spoke wheel, and you stepped outside the norm, and can't wait to see the car once she hits the ground.
The rears are 67 pounds each, they were shipped with the tires on and nothing but bubble wrap. Fronts were 62 pounds, the lugs and locks were included with the deal, so maybe a pound there.
As far as the deep lip, yeah they are cool and I looked for sometime for some and really didn't like what I was finding. So I said the hell with it. Especially since I got the rims for 450 bucks. the rubber was more of course, but oh well
I couldn't really go wrong to be honest, if I didn't like them I would find something else. But I think that I am going to dig these. I think though that I am going to notch the frame though and cut the spacer down to 2 inches in the back and have the same in the front, this would conceivably put the wheels in the same position as far as offset goes as they would be on a vette, I have always liked the look of a fat tire slightly tucked in, we will see. As you can see by the pics I need to clean up the other side of the garage to stage parts and everything else, it has been a dumping ground for the past few months.

Well they don't fit like I want them to and right now with a big ass bump you would take out the fender. The offset for the rear is 59MM on the wheel , then subtract the 3 inch spacer, or what ever it is in MM and there you go. If I cut 1/2 inch out of them they would look like the other forum member that has the 20X12's on his, but I want to go the extra 1/2 inch in to suck them under a little more. you will see what I am talking about when I am done

Ah, you are not that far off from stock then. I weighed those stock chrome wheels and tires I have for sale, and they came up at 60lbs.The rears are 67 pounds each, they were shipped with the tires on and nothing but bubble wrap. And your rear widened wheels you just sold had to weigh at least another 2-4 pounds over stock I would think. So just lose 10-15 pounds yourself and you won't have any weight increase Mike.
