I will be beginning the installation of some suspension mods toward the end of the month and would like to know if anyone had any particular order you would like to see these things done and some suggestions on methods of accumulating data that would help us understand better some of the benefits (or lack thereof) to a given mod based on what may or may not already be done to the car. The idea is to do this in an order that has not been tried yet if there is one. I don't have access to a race track or anything, and this is a daily driver, but I do have a couple of curvy back roads where I can experiment rather safely. Suspension is magic to me, so give me some ideas on how to get good data after each stage of the mods. Here's a list of the parts that I will be installing:

1. H&R springs
2. Koni shocks (8040-1087 front/ 1087 rear)
3. Bridgestone RE730 285/40-17's
4. TCE Performance Wilwood brake kit, slotted and zinc plated rotors (tan pads to start with)
5. Bill Harper's upper and lower front control arms with Del-A-Lum bushings and 5/8" spindles
6. Metco upper and lower extended rear control arms
7. Moog "problem solver" idler arm (K6187T)
8. F-body front and HO rear sway bars with Energy Suspension swaybar and end link bushings
9. Stiffer body bushings from Dal

If there is anything else I "need" to do along with this, please chime in. If it's something that would just be "nice to have" just whisper it -- I'm broke. Anybody want to buy a '65 ElCamino????? I'm going cam and head shopping after I sell it!

I'll e-mail the pic's. Can't figure out how to post them. Maybe you could do it. Anyway, it's an original 283/power glide. Runs great. Don't know the exact mileage and from the pics you can see that it is in need of paint. The body is straight and there are no dents. Interior is fair. As far as I can tell all rust is surface only except for the usual places under the windshield and back glass. I've got some NOS stuff to go with it and the price is firm at $3800. For anyone who is really interested, just e-mail me. By the way, the suspension mods are on hold until the Imp gets out of the hospital. Hit a deer this morning.
Now I'm looking for the best price on an SLP hood setup. WooHoo.

I think I would start with:
Correcting any worn parts (Idler arm?),(front control arms?)
Then:
1)Body bushings
2)Shocks
3)springs
4)Rear control arms
5)Sway bars
The tires you are already using, correct?
The brake up grade should not be a factor,
meaning it would not make a difference in handling.Just my $.02.

ya man i to want to have an list of an awsome suspension set up for a 95 caprice
but dont know wear to start, so far i want to get springs,gas shocks front and rear sway bars (aftermarket impalla) and correcting the rear wheels, any other sugestions? :confused:

First I'd suggest -not- "correcting" the rear wheels. It's purely cosmetic. In fact, it makes the wheelbase longer, which you don't want (albeit by a small enough amount it probably won't hurt). Further, it requires replacing both the upper and lower arms, and the uppers are just fine stock and a bitch to change out.

Plus, it potentially introduces driveshaft length issues.

Just replace the lowers, in stock size. BMRs on a budget, Global West if you want the best.

To start though, unless you have something broken, do the body bushings... it's cheap and you can do it yourself in half an hour without a jack or anything.
