Hi Everyone!


My Pass Key light is on all the time in my 95 Roadmaster. The car starts and runs fine. Whats up with this? I had a similar problem with my 92 bonneville with the security light on, but the car would not start. I spliced a resistor somewhere and it cured it. Can I have this disabled from the PCM and pull the fuse? Or can I just do the resistor thing again?

I went and test drove a 1996 Roadmaster and the PASS KEY light never went off. The car started and drove just fine. I thought when the PASS KEY light was on that the car would be disabled.

If the car still starts and runs fine and a solid pass key light is on the dash, it most likely means the module went bad and it defaulted to "fail-enable" mode. Which will let you run/drive the car. It also means the car is no longer protected by the system, so it could be started without a "chipped" key.

ha, when i found out about "fail-enable" mode, i felt stupid but my mechanic tried to tell me eventually i wont be able to start the car....pshhhhh
