Just bought a 96 Impala. Previous owner installed a K&N air filter. Know have the Engine light on with the PO412 and my mechanic says it will stay on. Anyone know how to get to go off?
I see that as the secondary air injection code. Originally these cars had a small electric pump which was connected into the fittings at the top/front of the exhaust manifolds. Its a terribly unreliable pump with not much use. Most people "disable" it roughly following the GM TSB but this does require reprogramming to turn off the code.
