Followed the steps and was able to get my ebay FOB to sync with the wagon. The next day the car no longer responded to the FOB, and when I tried to do the relearn sequence (by shorting to ground) that wouldn't work as well... meaning the car wouldn't cycle through the door locks as it normally does. It didn't do anything. The next day when going to the store it worked ok to lock the car. When I came out and tried to unlock it wasn't working again.

I was told that my auto lock box might be on it way out. What is the correct term for that box? Is there any repair procedure besides tearing into it and replacing the relays? Thanks guys- lots of help from here.

I'm loving Carl so far!
First replace the batteries in the FOB. If that does not work, try another receiver. Repairing them is nearly impossible unless you have an oscilloscope.

If you have the remote function at all (remote receiver is under the CHSL) then the black connector with two leads is what you are looking for. You can short the two leads with whatever conducts electricity. It should cycle, then press the button on the remote, and it should recycle again. If you have a second remote, push it at this time as well. It will cycle again. Then disconnect the jumper, and you are set.
