Hello all you helpful and unselfish impala enthusiast. I want to make a final and public list of all those who desire to be assistant racing stewards of and for the ISSCA. I'm asking for a show of hands from those who would like to be racing stewards and who are members in good standing of ISSCA.
Racing stewards will help keep track of club racing activities and work with event organizers to try to get racing events run in accordance with ISSCA rules. Racing stewards will keep track of racing results and forward them to me and I'll forward them to the secretary. Attending events would be ideal. If you cannot attend some of the events in your region, then that would be ok. You would simply keep an ear nailed to the rail as to what went on at the event and gather the results. You can also recruit helpers in your region who wouldn't have to be officially appointed stewards, but they would be your "deputies". It might sound like too much work at first, but our club is founded on hard working enthusiast. I'm going to just look at the fun side of this job and that might help keep my skin thick for when people complain or whine without appreciating the fact that we are all just trying to have fun.
Post here if you are still interested in being an ISSCA assistant steward.
Also state your geographical region.

National Racing Steward, ISSCA

Dear Karl,

I am a helpful and unselfish impala enthusiast wishing to be an assistant racing steward of and for the ISSCA. I am a member in good standing of ISSCA and would like to help keep track of club racing activities and work with event organizers to try to get racing events run in accordance with ISSCA rules. I can keep track of racing results and forward them to you to be forwarded to the ISSCA secretary. I can not fully commit to attending ALL events. But, can at a minimum, be involved with event setup and compiling results of participants in my region.

I am located in Sacramento California. Realistically, I will be more involved with Northern California events (unless you could help convince my wife otherwise).

Please contact me to discuss my skills and how I may fit in, or if you have any questions.

Best wishes,

Mike Preszler

Karl, I'm still in! I'm in the East Texas area, so I'll help in this area. Unfortunately, I'm still in college, so I won't be able to attend several events, but I will try! Also, my email address has changed to [email protected] and/or [email protected]

ThankSS!!

Hey everyone, just writting to say thanks, and to let you know I see the posts and have you all marked down as stewards. I'm going to let this thread go for a few weeks and then send the final list off to ISSCA board for the record. I'll be in touch.

count me in - birmingham, al.

we've got clubs in north and south alabama, i'm working on one here in central al. i guess if nobody from the other alabama clubs is interested, i could cover the state, unless/until it becomes too much for one person.

Not for nothing but.... Isnt racing steward a little "funny"... it is too close to stewardess.

I mean theres got to be better titles for you guys!!!

how about

"Racing Associate"
or
"Racing Ambassador"
or
"Racing Officer"

just some ideas thrown in the wind by
yours truly!!

Oh ok .. well *I* Didnt know that! If thats the case then so be it.. ..... just a fart in the wind...[/LIST]

haha, Shane, you crack me up.

I personally prefer Racing Directors.
But racing Steward is a real racing title and the BOD decided that we would be called Stewards, before we were stewards.

One thing you can do, if you talk your wives or GF's into helping you, you can call them Stewardresses. ;)

So, Karl, who are the official ISSCA Racing Stewards?

Cheston

Good question Cheston.
Looks like I better make a list and make it official.
How about I give myself until tonight to do that.
