REAR AXLE..BUSHINGS?

96 SS.. I have somekind of rubbing going on in the back. The rear left wheel seems to get caught on something and click when rocked back and forth. I checked my bushings on lower trailing arms. THEY ARE SHOT. Could this cause play in the rear axle enough to cause a rubbing sound when turning? But it doesnt seem to be a tire rubbing. HELP. Mechanic says it could be the shock or trailing bushings. ITS THE COULD BE part im not comfortable with. Also feels like the alignment is off while accelerating. I think its play in the rear. PLEASE HELP :confused:

How many miles? Were the shocks replaced since you had it? If so, how many miles on them? (i.e. need more info)
