When my car's on a lift, the coil springs almost fall out. My mechanic suggested off-hand that a rear-axle tie-down strap like those used on track cars would keep the axle from dropping that low.
If these were cheap, I'd put them on. I can't find them. I know that some of you guys race. Please point me at a good site that would have these. Thanks.

You must be running a shorter rear spring...
Did your friend tell you where to run the strap?
I would guess you would have to loop it over the frame further back than the axle.... may not be a simple task with the car NOT jacked up.

If this works out... you won't really need any fancy straps. Just pick up a pair of tie-down or ratchet straps that have a load rating of 500 lbs or so.

Easier solution : get a set of 4 METAL tie-wraps, usually used around exhaust stuff. Get wraps that are a foot or little more long, 1/8-1/4" wide.

Use two of them to hold the springs (1 per side) to the axle, and another two to hold the springs to the top mounts (hole in spring perch, hole in shock mount).
