Okay, Decision time. The system is slowly coming together. My first thought was to run Alpine SPR 176A's in the doors and rear deck. After doing some research, it seems that that much rear speaker is either a waist or not needed. Although 6x9's are not my first choice, I was wondering what you guy might use in the rear deck. I would like to keep everything Alpine but I might change my mind. So far the system includes:

Alpine 7824 HU
Alpine 3321 EQ
Alpine SWR1041 sub
Alpine 3544 Sub amp (400x1)
Alpine 3552 4 ch. amp (4x40)
Alpine CHMS620 Changer
Alpine SPR176A front comps.

I also have an outstanding pair of older Blau Tweeters that I can use if I feel I need them. So, is there a good 6 1/2 or 6x9 that is not a coax or multi piece speaker that I can use for rear fill? Mid bass or mid range?

thanks

PS, I found a cheap set of 6x9's on ebay.....950 watt each...only $19.95.....anyone want to test them for me!

After doing two bbody installs, and lots of listening, I would just do some mid bass /or pure bass drivers for the back. Keep all the staging in the front doors/ dash area.
If I were to do it again, some 8" w/an adapter plate in the back, or just some 6.5", No mids/tweets.

Thats what I was thinking. Any Idea where to get a set of 8's? Brand? An adaptor plate? I used Kicker 8's back in the day as well as Bostic's. I am sure Bostic has gone the way of the Dodo. Anyway, Thank for the reply.

Believe it or not, JL Audio is making some decent internals now. Check them out too! Tweeter has then on display, I sell them! ;)

I personally chose the no rear speaker mod. They actually made my stereo sound worse

I just went with a cheap set of JVC 6x9s. Sounds great.

I have the same Alpine 6.5 componets up front you're using, a slightly bigger Alpine amp (4x55) and I'm running the Alpine R-series 6x9s in the back... sounds great to me, and keeps you all alpine.

Okay so here it is. I went with the CDT CL-6 mid bass drivers for the rear deck. No...its not Alpine but they should work great. So, heres the complete system:

Alpine 7824 HU
Alpine 3321 EQ
Alpine SWR1041 sub
Alpine 3544 Sub amp (400x1)
Alpine 3552 4 ch. amp (4x40)
Alpine CHMS620 Changer
Alpine SPR176A front comps
CDT CL6 rear fill

Now I just have to wait for the CDT's and 99-3900 unit to come is so I can finish the install. I hope....this weekend. Got a lot of "ice shielding" to do!
