I just had the Bilstiens 0929/1104 package along with the Hotchkis front and rear sway bars added to the car which already had the BMR extended control arms on it.........

When going over a rough patch of road..ie a parking lot with patches or a patched road I get a clunk from the rear right area at low speeds.... (And no it is not the clunk that occurs from first to second gear)

As for highway driving it handles like a dream no problems what so ever.

It occurs just at low speeds and hitting a pothole or fat patch in the road.

After getting home I crawled under the car and looked around, it looks all tight and it looks like nothing is cracked or broken...

Does anyone else running this package experience this situation, or can someone give me a tip or two on where I should go from here????

Thanx,

OLB

Did you add heat shields to anything?

I had a clunk when I had my exhaust done. The gas tank shield was hitting the pipe on a nice size bump. You might have to really get under the car and look for a spot that has some scrapes or scratches on it.

Can you get the car to make the sound by shaking the rear?

I have the same problem! its been doing it for about a year. My dad and i have been trying to fig it out, but no luck. Everything is tight. I have Bilstiens on too, but the car handles well, so we didnt think it was that. Im changing the rear control arms bushings this next sat. ill keep you updated. We were also not able to reproduce the sound ourselves.

And the winner is Thump......

Your're right the muffler is scraping the heatshield on the right.....

Chevy350: You might want to look there, you have to get under the car but look where the muffler bends around the tank and you prob will find some new scrapings on the heatshield.....

Ok, i checked. didnt see any scratches on the shield or pipe for that matter. Then i decided to shake the muffler, pipe, and resonator. Nothing. then i decided to move the heat shield a bit and it seems like it might be rubbing/hitting the gas tank. So i bent it a bit and ill see what happens.
